Gordon is so much like Robben at stealing penalties. It’s really snide and yeh I will look the other way
-
The increased injuries and sloppier play as games come thick and fast - that’s a team getting used to elite level.

Off to Flyers game today. Then Eagles games tomorrow. Any food or bar recommendations? Staying near Rittenhouse Square I think.
What you after - beer and casual? Smarter and cocktail? Dive bar?

How we playing? Travelling to Philly atm so can't watch game.
Ah man what you doing there? Let me know if you need recommends, I used to live there.

We lead through a great goal and had one great effort saved. They had one very good chance saved and should have done better with a cutback. Otherwise we’ve looked more potent with the ball, but 2 high intensity teams are cancelling each other out a bit. Just my opinion.

Would be a travesty if we don't get 3 points today
Would it? It’s been a pretty even game thus far; largely scrappy.

Can see Burnley getting back into this on the back of an error soon.
Especially by the referee.

Genuinely poor ref as well
-
I’d be ok with Burn coming off at half time - that’s 5 really basic mistakes already.
-
Referee’s reluctance to book Burnley means they can keep on with cynical fouls. Can tell Kompany learned from Pep.
-
The difference Botman makes to our passing from the back is so stark right now
-
I’m in the habit of defending him but Burn looks hungover thus far

We've been both! We looked like dribbly piss vs Brighton and Thunderbastard vs Villa, now Vila are Thunderbastard vs Brighton.
Rung 3: hundred hand slap

8-0 aside I have no idea where we stand in the power rankings.
Can these power rankings have a name at each level? Top being “thunderbastard” and bottom being “a catholic’s piss” or something

Wonder how he did it? Strange injury.
Bit like when Tripps came in and immediately broke his foot.
Gutted for the lad, he looked upset when going off. Their careers are short at the best of times and it's a nightmare thing to happen when you join a new club. Happens to most of our signings though so I reckon he will be fine!
Wasn't the Trippier one caused by Fat John McGinn kicking him? It's incredible how in each of the last 3 seasons a big signing has got injured almost instantly and missed 3 months - Trippier, Isak, now Barnes.
-
The way he gets the team to react in adversity is really noteworthy. Looking forward to the next big test against PSG - definitely passed the last one at Milan.

Are you aware that this sort of statement can be considered offensive? Do you believe that women are not strong enough mentally to stand up for themselves? My wife would be quite offended by you believing, as a man, that you need to stand up for her and she is not capable of doing it herself.
Can I bring you some more spades?

I’m just disappointed it only affects the shirts not the shorts otherwise the men’s game would also have been worth a watch on Saturday.Dullard.

Became a bit of a forgotten man by circumstance. Would love to see him reach levels that others have done, likeable and capable.

The villa women’s game on Sunday sounds like it will be worth a watch.Calling this out for the shite that it is. Times have moved on - a reason they may be reluctant to play is because comments like these remain acceptable “jokes” or because of concern of being perved on while doing their jobs. Please don’t do it and remember that there are multiple female posters on the forum.

0.02% chance of having 12 home cup draws in a row, yes.
Not a 0.02% chance of them drawing at home last night.
Interesting - as in the genuine mathematical chances of a 50/50 landing the same way 12 times in a row is 0.02? How does that work mathematically?
Sorry to turn a football thread into a maths chat...

Yep - try flipping a coin and see how many consecutive heads or tails you get. Can’t get anywhere near 12 ?
But it doesn’t change that the odds of each flip remain 50/50. It is certainly unlikely to have 12 of the same outcome in a row, but it’s still just a series of 50/50 chances. It’s also a weak comparison statistically because there are other multiple balls at play, actually making the odds even greater, which at the same time undermines my argument totally so I’ll stop typing

12th home cup draw in a row for Man Utd.
Statistical chances of that happening are 0.02%.
That’s misleading. It’s 50/50 each time (in theory) - the preceding draws don’t factor into the actual probability.

We have just beaten the best club side in the world with a "make shift" defence. We can beat Man Utd and trust me, they are more wary of us than we are of them.
