I understand the sentiment but I don't see it that way. Spurs breaking their trophy drought would be worse for Newcastle. I think Man Utd are in the shit no matter what, they've got so many holes in their squad. CL and a trophy is a bit of a difference-maker for Spurs, whereas Man Utd already have trophies. Them winning this won't change anything, so it's the lesser of two evils IMO.

Man, got to hand it to Villa and Emery. For a non-cartel 6 club they've had a great season overall with very respectable runs in multiple cups in Europe and domestically, and strong performance in the league. Can only hope it ends in tragedy with no CL, a spiralling wage bill and an exodus of talent.
