We'll beat any one of them fairly comfortably. It's a shame Partizan aren't there. Another time, eh. bluecool.gif

Everton, Spurs, Bolton & Chelsea. They play ugly ugly ugly football.

That's not to be disrespectful to Gerrard either [as I rate him immensely], that's a testament to Rivaldo's ability.
-
Didn't see it, but I'm sure the best ever overhead kick was Rivaldo's against Valencia in the last minute to complete his hat trick AND get Barca qualified for the champions league. definately - used to worship the ground rivaldo walked on, right up until he pulled that stupid shit against turkey in the 2002 world cup - a piece of football died that day *sniff* Yeah it was the same for me until that Turkey incident. Can't stand the prick now He's still the one of the best footballers ever. The Turkey incident was repugnant [and quite funny: couldn't stand that Turkey team - was just desserts IMO] but he didn't need to do that. His game had EVERYTHING. He could do a Gerrard-Hollywood-ball 100 times out of 100. He did it against Liverpool on numerous occasions in fact. I can't recall outright, a more entertaining player.

What is this, 20 questions?!

He has the second worst technical and physical ability at the club. I think Carr pips him to both.
-
Carrick - Fergie's correct.... and there's our midfield cornerstone.

Agree entirely. *kudos* -
Who else in our team provides the threat he does? It boils down this: we hardly ever score. Our defence isn't as terrible as people would have you believe, but if we never score, the goals we concede are that much more costly. It may be a bitter pill to swallow for some given his past record/antics, but we do need Dyer right now. It's a team game, oui, but his value to the team at this moment in time outweighs any other at the club IMO including the Givens who can be replaced [e.g by Kruls ]... Dyer's role in the team is one only he can perform. It's an essential role for us to stay up, and our biggest weakness in his absence.
-
Oh dear. Classic. Why is it when people on this board disagree with something they fail to come up with reasons? Fair enough if you think i'm talking shite. Elaborate? Dyer could very well to be the saviour of our season just as Laurent was a few years ago when we had no other attacking threat in midfield. Lolo was the only supplier of goals, and Shearer the only scorer. As things stand, no one else is electric going forward. Dyer is the only midfielder who will scare opposition defenders. Duff was supposed to but hasn't, and Zog doesn't play. Solano will get better with Dyer in the team too.

Or perhaps it was Shola's fault. what do you mean with that? no-one's to blame for conceding a freekick they score from??? all henry had to do was run in between taylor and bramble to confuse both of them... that's just a basic attacking run. one of the two should have marked him and neither did It's pretty obvious what I mean really: Bramble's had a good game, it was Taylor who gave away the freekick - which will happen when we're being put under this much pressure by the way - we're not playing with a man marker on Henry, so whoever's nearest picks him up, yet you still see fit to blame Bramble for the goal!! Certain players get blamed for things irrespective of reality, unfortunately. Shola and Bramble are the main two. Conversely, Ramage and Carr seem to get away -very- lightly. Carr's absence today was a pleasure to behold.

That, and the joke I came up with should Luque ever execute a Hand Of God... Cool Hand Luque! Woop woo... hoy -.-
-
Best thing that's happened all night apart from the match. Genuinely put a smile on my face... thanks Baggio \o/

not really. he scored two good goals for the reserves when most players in his position would've put in minimal effort and just gone through the motions. and then he scored for catalunya. Fair point! blueyes.gif That was 3 weeks ago, though. There may be other extenuating circumstances however. Roeder's silence is more worrying to me - hoping no one would notice?!
-
Agree with J-Hall to a degree. For all we know, Luque could very well be playing like an -actual- 5-year old girl,... for all we know. That being said, Roeder should inform the fans what is going on with Luque and why a £9m is on the bench regardless of circumstance. He doesn't necessarily have to berate him publicly, but a tactful explanation would do.
-
At least Luque will feel more accustomed to continental football.
