The side don't seem particularly aggressive. It's not like they're Sunderland trying to kick the opposition off the pitch. A lot of it is clumsy and bad fitness IMO. Needs to be stamped out either way if you'll excuse the pun.

Don't think they really got out of second gear in fairness. You can see they have more in the tank. NUFC seem to have a habit of trying to beat players in the middle third when it's easier to pass around them. Could learn a bit from Arsenal in that regard IMO.

Wow. Just saw the team sheet - I'm still not sold on McClaren - but very impressed at that selection. Almost perfect. It's still against Arsenal and the team haven't really found themselves, so the personnel means little in the grand scheme of things but still - impressed.

The first XI is potentially pretty decent but the squad is paper thin and the team don't have a style of their own yet. Given that, and that Cisse/Williamson/Colback/Anita/Taylor will feature heavily in all likeliness, 10th is the most optimistic I could see.
