  1. That's never a penalty Ian Wright's homerism is off the charts
  2. A section of England fans may feel that way.
  3. I think this game might be the most important of Southgate's legacy - even if they have a subsequent final with Spain. A grim performance here will be the last real chance to overwrite the reality of the unfashionable football he has brought. If they slog through with more Bruce-y football, and go on to win it with another attritional performance against Spain, they will be not unfairly remembered by some as another Greece 2004 (except with world-beating talent ).
  4. Lamal is great for 16 (or any age for that matter), but he cuts onto his left foot a lot. I do wonder why defensive assignments haven't picked this up yet.
  5. The gap between the good and bad teams has been narrower which has lent to more competitive tension, and some of the non-flagship names of international football are playing increasingly attracrice football, but overall it's tough to disagree we haven't seen enough quality from those most capable of producing it. Be a bit of a shame if anyone but Spain won it IMO.
  6. Harsh on Turkey. Not much confidence in the Dutch in the semis.
  7. Turkish tekkers is amazing like. Some of these crosses. Christ.
  8. Has anyone ever hit the corner flag from a penalty kick? Today is the day.
  9. I think he'll take any exit route offered to avoid facing wor Schar again in the final.
  10. The unbridled selfishness of this crop of French players is hilarious. Box office in an unconventional way.
  11. The leg positioning for Merino generating power on the winning header was cinematic
