The Newcastle Online Emo Experiment 2013/14 - After GW11
Beren replied to Interpolic's topic in Football
Same, but I have predicted correctly so far going off the pre-match thread predictions. [i changed my prediction league prediction from 0-0 to 1-0 at the last minute, but my pre-match thread was 'draw']. -
How many points will Cardiff win the league by do you reckon?
-
GW3: Man City v Hull City Cardiff City v Everton Newcastle v Fulham Norwich v Southampton West Ham v Stoke City Crystal Palace v Sunderland Liverpool v Man Utd West Brom v Swansea Arsenal v Tottenham Will update table tonight.

Love a bad winner (genuinely!), much more entertaining

Followed this, but reconsidering the in-play option after seeing the teamsheets. Hm.
-
Brought in Duff for his usual match-of-the-season performance against us

Not sure about that. Will make life much more difficult for him/push him closer to the door at least. Edit: won't happen, but if we're talking about hypotheticals... How though? Is boycotting games going to make it more likely for someone to pay for the club? Might lower the offer he is willing to accept, thereby opening the door to more potential investors. Doesn't seem to be even a sniff of an investory atm (so it's all moot sadly - or at least as far as we know...), and given Ashley's unreasonable bargaining policy, any prospective bidder would be very much put off, but if the power balance shifted because they knew that Ashley wasn't making nearly enough through ticket sales it may be a decent bargaining chip in negotiations.

Run that through a Pardew translator.

Enjoyable watching Everton play. Moyes seems to have left behind a really good team, but a bad defence. Martinez has definitely inherited a squad with far better capabilities than his Wigan one, and he's started well so far (from the Norwich game and some highlights of yesterday). His big challenge for me is to help Everton keep a meaner defence, which was his big criticism at Wigan really. Sadly, Moyes left behind a bad defence IMO (although with some talented individuals). Replacing Distin in the near future and building a defence around the new guy will be interesting.

Agree. We also presumably have no replacement lined up of comparable or better quality, and I doubt - with the 'ambition' being shown by the club - that a player of such calibre would want to join this sinking ship.
-
Immediately. Any transfer point deductions come out of the next gameweek.

Let's not run before we crawl over here, Dave! We should be seeking to have a shot on goal, or maybe two, in December or so I would think.
-
Don't put a penny into the club (haven't for a good while now) and only watch us play in the background of doing other things with my weekends/evenings. Genuinely not worth my time/full attention. I'd probably comment on muted celebrations when Newcastle score, but I can't remember Newcastle scoring for a while. This forum is the best bit about the club as far as I'm concerned.

Chris in Peterborough has the manager he deserves.

Because they weren't attempts at goal, they were a symbol of resignation that the "shooting" player had no options left and no idea as to how progress the attack further other than to just welly it in the vicinity of the goal area.
-
Looked like they'd never met before, again. Picked a team at home to neutralise West Ham. What's left to say?

And it was going wide.

Little disappointed to see him shafted out wide again this season but Giroud is in good nick.
