  1. Best nufc player I've seen since I went to my first game in 1972. I base that on his clever assists, skills to beat a player, goals tally but mostly because he was a great team player who always gave his all. It was sad to see him leave for Liverpool but understandable from his need to have a chance of winning honours. The season he had up front at Liverpool with Aldridge and Barnes was unforgettable, I'm glad he got his medals. When he came back I thought Keegan had made a mistake as he'd just had a so-so season with Everton but he kicked us on to a new level - Andy Cole doesn't get all those goals without him.

For the record ( correct my memory if wrong) I saw his debut as a sub away to Barnsley in 198? and you could tell straight away he was going to be special. Goal away at Portsmouth that season is my favourite - had an open goal having gone round the keeper and still through another dummy to beast a last lunge and walk the ball into the net.

  2. Well I thought Pards got the full back selection right but got it wrong going 442. It might have worked last season but yesterday we needed to be solid in the middle. Thought he bottled the decision as to who to put on the wing too. Having said that it is our poor passing that is killing us at present.

My other comment is that I sit in the East Stand and was directly behind the Cisse header. I obviously couldn't tell if it was over the line - but what I saw is the header flick Evra's hand before it hit the post. Anyone else notice this?

  3. I was surprised that when Simpson went off and we moved to 433 that we didn't put Jonas at RB as there was a lot of space for the RB and he could have attacked from there leaving Bigi and Anita to sit deep and try and control midfield.

  4. Pards sounds like he is inviting bids for our big players.

I half suspect that we've been touting Tiote around all summer, and our failure to offload him for big money may have held up everything else.

Agree with this. Tiote is not a £20m player, good that he is.

  5. For a club that spend years researching players, it's a shame we don't find out how much they're likely to cost.

We find out how much the other team wants then divide by two. Find out how much the player earns and multiply that by two. Then we wait. And wait. Then pounce. We are happy. The player is happy. And the other club hates us.

  6. I'd sell if we could get m'Vila but suspect it would be Mulumbu which wouldn't be the end of the world. If we had to sell one top player it would be Tiote for me as his passing isn't as good as it should be at this level. Still hope he stays mind.
