He's not going anywhere unless we push him. Well he's not exactly getting head hunted by Barca at the moment, but if he wins the Championship and keeps us up this season, he ends up in a really strong bargaining position in the summer. And it wouldn't be inconceivable that other teams might be interested, especially if he's out of contract.

Why would it be daft to offer him a new contract if his current deal expires at the end of the season? It would be pretty daft to wait until the end of year, especially if we stay up or have an unexpectedly good season.
