  1. Aye spot on, stick him back in the middle (or Gosling), Santon back in a LB. This. Prefer Jonas.
  2. The latter has become a parody of himself rather quickly. There was one the other week when Crouch scored with him and some other dour Irish chap, proper hard listening. Still listening twice a week on my commute to work. I like Glendenning though his schtick does get tiresome pretty quickly. The show is always much better-- more insightful less jokey-- when Glendenning is away. What bores me is Sid Lowe. I don't particularly care about either Real Madrid or Barcelona and don't fancy listening to him talk about how boring it is in La Liga. Every show he's prattling on how the Madrid papers are saying this or that. Give it a rest. Would rather hear about the title races in France or Germany.
  3. We're all excited because James Perch is fit to start.
  4. So... We want Liverpool to beat Everton and Chelsea to beat Tottenham in the FA Cup. Chelsea to beat Benfica, but lose to Barca in Champions League. (The more congested their schedule the better) Manchester United to win the title ASAP, so that Man City have nothing to play for in the penultimate game. Also, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Everton to lose whenever possible. Liverpool and Sunderland to lose (just because) unless they are playing a team above Newcastle in table ?
  5. Too true. He might've scored one himself. It was Williamson's header that Simpson's saved off the line. (For all Liverpool's "dominance" in that first 15 minutes did they even have a shot on goal?) And he's constantly tugging at shirts-- Fortunate he wasn't called for handling Carroll. Perch was the MOTM for me. Would've got it too (officially) if not for his acting performance.
  6. Only one? Not sure i understand, in the EPL? Maybe he thinks this is the relegation fodder thread?

  8. So much the better. Let them talk about Andy Carroll, offside goals, handballs, and how they "dominated" the first 15 minutes. (They're not allowed to blame Daglish.) The longer they go on pretending the fault lies elsewhere, the later they'll take steps to address the rot.
  9. Felt very sad. It occurred to me that I've been on here for seven years now. Jeez.
  10. Anyone else think that the response to Enrique might have been less vitriolic had he gone somewhere other than Liverpool? I mean, he leaves saying that the NUFC lack ambition and won't compete with the top six... and than he goes to Liverpool. If he had gone to a top club, fine. But he didn't go to a top club, he went to Liverpool. They were a top club. But they aren't now and haven't been for a while. Say that all of Liverpool's summer purchases had paid off and Liverpool came to St. James' in second or third place. Would the response to Jose have been as intense? I don't know. He was my favorite player and I think I would've been much less aggrieved had to a Champions League side. Also, in retrospect I'm pretty happy with the boos given to Carroll and Enrique today. I think they were rattled by it. Enrique especially, after he heard how the crowd cheered when Ben Arfa skinned him. That's what the home field advantage is all about. Fans deserve a lot credit for intimidating Liverpool.
  11. Well, you never know. European football. That's the time to buy.
  12. Georgio Chinaglia died http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/02/sports/soccer/giorgio-chinaglia-cosmos-and-lazio-soccer-star-dies-at-65.html He was an asshole, but a hero of mine when I was very young. (Yeah, I'm that old.) RIP
  13. Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but... What exactly was Perch's card for? Was it for "tripping" Reina or his acting performance? My first impression was that the trip wasn't deliberate. Anyway, a yellow card for acting is justified. As for Reina, that's a straight red every day of the week. Don't see where they (Liverpool fans) have a complaint. Perch and Reina were both carded. Do they seriously think Perch should have received two yellows? Or that his acting warranted a red, when Carroll had already seen yellow for diving? BTW He was very good today.
  14. The minute QPR brought on Mark Hughes, they made my list. Villa and Bolton. But who am I kidding? Wolves are already gone.
  15. Looking forward to discussions of the "big eight".

I win. Wow Ronaldo, you must be some kind of fucking swami... predicting Wolves to lose. How did you get that one?
  17. The promises were kept though, it just wasn't to his timescale and he bolted before he should have. In the end, first offer he left. Hope he does regret it, in Liverpool he's moved to us a few years ago signing Duff & Owen. We all know how that ended, thought LFC having a bigger foundation its harder to fall as far as we did but one things for absolute certain, he's moved to a club which will never achieve anything in his playing career to the extent of glories past. 3-4 players, a better manager and same couldn't be said here. What? It's certain that Liverpool will never achieve anything during his playing career. But it's possible for NUFC? Absolutely certain? You're having a laugh. When we were relegated who would've thought we'd be where we are now? Where were Man City three/four years ago. Nothing's certain. Edit: I hold nothing against Enrique. Based on all the evidence present Ashley and company appeared to be a bunch of incompetent boobs. They got a lot wrong for a long time. And now they're getting a lot right. No reason that Liverpool couldn't do the same and turn it around very, very quickly.

He probably takes dictation. Transforms bizarre ramblings into semi-coherent sentences.
  19. I think his statement accurately reflects his experience with the club. That's not just Barton, Nolan, and Carroll, but also the players the club sold before we went down: Given, Milner, and N'Zogbia. Not to mention the "talent" that jumped ship after the club was relegated. Carroll is probably the key one though. We sold him without bringing in a replacement; that did not inspire confidence.

I had to go to the BBC site to check if was it a parody. Incredible. It is speaks volumes that neither Merson or "Lawro" saw fit to mention that NUFC will be missing Coloccini for this game. It's only the single most salient concern for Pardew and the club at the moment. It's not that they don't know what the fuck they are doing; neither can be bothered to make an effort.
  21. Love it. They've got a thread at RAWK called "Our Fundamental Problem"; it's ten pages long and no one is allowed to admit the obvious: they've got to start with Kenny Daglish.
  22. Tiote hasn't exactly been the dominating presence he was last season. He doesn't inspire the same confidence he once did. We could play well with or without him. And his absence doesn't mean we're going to get run over.
