  2. Agree... though I wouldn't want Parker to be captain or a 100% guaranteed starter. (Which I suppose would rule out a return) And James Milner? Milner is our best player last season and he doesn't even figure? I'd rather see a healthy and motivated Zoggy or Duff than Emre in a 4-3-3 [And Allardyce imay be the man to motivate both of them]
  3. I think we're keeping both... but.... Assuming that Owen stays to the end of his contract (big assumption) and stays healthy (bigger assumption), I'd keep him. In a full season he'd score more goals than Martins every time. And the club couldn't possibly sell him for anything like the money spent to buy him. Whereas, the club could easily recuperate the money spent on Martins. In the real world, I'd bet on Martins.
  4. So, has Barton returned to SJP? Is he signing now? Does anybody know ANYTHING? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
  5. The guy may be a thug, but he does speak the truth. His criticisms of Lampard and Man City were 100% correct.
  6. Joey Barton is a fine young man.
  7. How possible/probable is it that Carr is the RB next season? Funny, I just assume that Allardyce will take care of that. Fingers crossed.
  8. Solano is the better choice. Rather see Solano handed RB and the captaincy and Dyer handed a bus ticket.
  9. The morality of players is the least of the ethical issues involved. The crimes of someone like Barton are minuscule when compared to those of the moneyed interests that run the game-- Berlusconi, Murdoch. etal.
  10. Kewell in two Champions League finals, Smith with the league champs, Woodgate a stint at Real Madrid. All good players laid low by injuries. Bet they all miss Leeds.
  11. Absolutely, i was shocked when i found out that he has only scored a couple more than Parker this season because he is capable of so much more. Although, i think it has something to do with Man citys lack of goals and there poor season. For me he EXACTLY the type of playmaker we need. If Butt plays as well as he did last season they would be awesome IMO. Barton and playmaker shouldn't be in the same sentence. If you don't know what a playmaker is you shouldn't express opinions about football. Playmaker. A person who creates play perhaps. Or have you got your definiton from a computer game that i don't play? Would you care to venture into some debate about why he isn't a playmaker, or is that beyond your intelligence? vicky wannabee There's only one Vicky Pollard.
  12. Really, like Parker and will be disappointed to see him go.... But, I think that the club can do better. At this point, I don't know that we'd be any worse off if we'd had Butt and Emre instead of Parker and Emre. And £8.5m is good business. I'm pretty confident that Allardyce will spend that money wisely.
  13. Can't believe the club might actually make a profit on a player. Maybe we could convince them to take Luque as well? £8.5m is a good price for him. I think that we can do better. I think that Parker will do well at West Ham. He needs a change, and so do we.
  14. Which is the best choice for NUFC? Probably none of the above. (Parker is not the answer for us. He may do very well elsewhere.) Which [Who] is the better player? Barton
  15. how will we be weaker? we had no proper DM which we will have in hargy bargy. We didn't have a proper winger apart from ronaldo. we will have park fit and another new winger. we didn't have a proper striker for half the season, we are buying a new striker. Hey, Chelsea picked up Sheva and Ballack. Did they improve? Go ahead, buy that striker and Hargreaves.... Carrick and him will work out beautifully. It's guaranteed.
  16. I take it that's in no particular order? That's how they finished this past season. Pretty silly to predict who will be stronger or weaker without knowing who is going where--- absurd to pick how they'll finish.
  17. = Man United ^ Chelsea = Liverpool = Arsenal ^ Tottenham = Everton v Bolton v Reading = Portsmouth v Blackburn ^ Aston Villa v Middlesbrough ^ Newcastle United ^ Man City ^ West Ham United v Fulham = Wigan Athletic
  18. Like to see him over there... that is if he has any influence on Pizarro Peru coach Uribe tells Solano to calm down LIMA, May 22 (Reuters) - Peru coach Julio Cesar Uribe has told midfielder Nolberto Solano to calm down if he wants to play for his country again. "I've coached Solano before and I know when he's calm or not," Uribe told local media. "I'm waiting for the right moment to talk to him. "I'm not going to reply to absurd comments, for the time being I'm just observing." The Newcastle United player has not played for his country since a World Cup qualifier against Uruguay in 2005. Recently, he has publicly criticised the Peruvian federation, especially over plans to play home World Cup qualifiers at high altitude in the Andean city of Cuzco. Uribe has not yet made it clear whether Solano will be picked for the Copa America in Venezuela. "The player has to dedicate himself to playing," Uribe said. "He should come when he's happy and not when he's arguing with everyone. I want him to be calmer." Peru play neighbours Ecuador in two friendlies in Spain next month as part of their Copa America warm-up.
  19. ...and Campbell to NUFC? "The Newcastle defender Titus Bramble, whose imminent release by Allardyce was announced last week, has rejected Celtic, Birmingham and Fulham to agree a free transfer to Portsmouth. The 25-year-old will undergo a medical at Fratton Park today to become Harry Redknapp's first summer signing. "Titus is a good free transfer," said Redknapp. "We are looking to strengthen the squad and we have some exciting players lined up." at the bottom of the story. Owen wooed by Allardyce but still cool on commitment

    Mido...

Oh, why the hell not. Bring him in, and Barton, Diouf, and Duncan Ferguson!
  21. Taylor and somebody. Campbell, I suppose.
  22. None of the above. The best option for the both the club and the players across the board. Bramble is not going to succeed here. (Probably won't succeed anywhere, but definitely not here.)A new club and some new fans will do him good. And he makes too much money Onyewu is not good enough to start. He needs to go somewhere where he will play. Others should retire
