FWIW there was 250 people at the Kazan v Twente game midweek. It is like they've been to 'How to butcher a perfectly fine competition' lessons or some shit.

Its the Waffa u21s n all this summer. Was surprisingly decent last time it was on with that mammoth shootout v Holland.

One of the names mentioned was Villa, they have less chance than us of reaching Europe. I'd also add that I can't believe any player on the planet really aspires to playing in the Europa League. "Oooh, the glamour, I get to play against FC Titwank (Albania) on a Thursday night in front of 21,000". Don't get me wrong, they should do, but managers, directors and (largely) fans don't give a s*** about it these days, it is hard to believe the players do. Don't diss FC Titwank, they have won the Albanian league 39 times in a row. I think players see the EL as a shopping window. I genuinely don't. I appreciate that it is hard for a Barcelona fan to get their head around this (*wink*) but you have to experience the Europa League as a fan to fully understand the sheer, crashing, depressing pointlessness of it. Most decent players don't even play in it - we used to give the likes of Isaiah Osbourne and Moustafa Salifou a run out in it, and we're hardly Arsenal when it comes to squad rotation. UEFA as much as anyone to blame for the sorry state of the competition. Just make it straight two leg knock out FFS. Really, really annoys me. I'd say UEFA are absolutely entirely to blame. I agree on the knock out thing. Mind you, I'm a traditionalist, I loathe all this "Champions" League bollocks, which includes teams who finished fourth in their league, and till last year, Liverpool, who haven't been domestic "Champions" for two entire decades. The whole thing is a depressing charade trotted out for television networks, and symbolises everything which is wrong with the modern game. The predictability of it all just renders it entirely meaningless. There really is a limit to how many times I want to watch Chelsea - Barcelona or Man United - Roma before i throw the telly out of the window. Couldn't agree more although I do like watching the CL. I'd have it top 2, still a league format, everyone else in the UEFA and what do you know the UEFA Cup is as popular as the CL again.

They should have just left it as the UEFA Cup, both in format and name. Even the league stages aren't a proper "league", as you don't play each of the other teams both home and away. It really is pointless. Such a shame. You do since it turned into Europa League. No you don't. You definitely although its unnecessary meaning means noone pays attention.

Millwall fans showing their 'class' once again. Game suspended due to Boro keeper and lino being pelted with objects. Wankers.

£35k That's €2m-ish a year, isn't it? If those are net wages (always get confused if PL wages are net or gross) Real Madrid's and Barça's starting left backs aren't on much more. (Marcelo's reportedly on €2m net/year, Abidal reportedly on €2,5m net/year). Wages over here are quoted net. Same as in Spain then. LB isn't a big ticket position unless you're Ashley Cole and crash your car if you're only paid 50k, so I don't think José Enrique can't get significantly more. Just of interest was is Dani Alves on/being offered?

And yet in the same time Argentina have won just as little as we have. You just made me check, didn't realize they hadn't won the Copa América since the early 90s! They've got as big a chance this year as they'll ever have. Brazil in transition & on home soil. You can never trust their defence though. Promises to be a bloody good tournament if Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay turn up & play to their full potential too. They never seem to get a reliable defence. Lately they have been calling Gaby Milito who has turned to shambles overnight (guess injuries finally taking its toll). They need to settle a proper midfield to fuel all that dynamite upfront too. So true their defence is generally poor as is the keeper. Problem with Argentina, at centre back, is that they only seem to produce one kind. The small, terrier type who is decent on the ball. Doesn't help that in the recent squad you've got G.Milito, Garay and Otamendi all of whom are not first team regulars for their club teams. The list of strikers that doesn't even get in the Argentine squad is eye watering though, most countries would settle for many of them as their number 9.

He has a nice side parting.

I bet we'll bid again. Could very much see him in the Premiership like.

As I've said before his quality isn't the best but he never hides and always puts his all into every game. Can't ask for anything more. All we need now is for Perch and Big Sol to come good and Hughton has a 100% transfer success rate.

Man United have been toss this 2nd half.

Avoiding this one then. How much have they spent? £180k

Xisco joins Deportivo on loan until the end of the season
Disco replied to LoveItIfWeBeatU's topic in Football
Was his loan just a loan or a loan with a permanent transfer at the end? If its the former, him getting injured isn't great news for us. -
Not with his injury record no. Would probably want paying more than a packet of crisps and a mars bar too so out of our price range.
-
Was fiddling the books at Boston.

Same. How Steve Evans is still allowed to work in football is beyond me. Odious fraudster that he is.

Always wanted us to go for Cisse. He has his negative aspects but he is a guarenteed 10-15 a season. From Olympiakos, although we don't need a RB, I rate Torosidis. Although maybe we're looking to bring Boumsong back
