England regular. Don't English players cost a lot of money? We've no need to sell and Liverpool have behaved disgracefully throughout this sage, so I suspect MON is determined to make it as difficult and expensive as he possibly can. I don't blame MON at all but I cannot see Pool bettering that offer, then its back down and sell him or put up with an unhappy player. If Carrick and Hargreaves are worth £18m then Barry is worth at least £20m in my view. I wouldn't say Barry is better than either of them, especially Carrick. Barry is worth what we will accept for him. We've got to go out and find a replacement, which - as we're not in the CL - is going to be difficult (a decent replacement, anyway). We've already got a miniscule squad, so losing one of our best players is the last thing we need. That doesn't mean Barry is worth 20m or better than Player A or Player B, but there is the value of the player and the fact we're selling him to a team we're trying to catch up (and one which seemingly has a lot of problems so may become catchable at some point). I'm glad MON is playing hardball, he's saying "this is how much we need him, this is how much you're going to have to give us for him if you want him, don't want to pay it? f*** off elsewhere". In the past we'd have bent over at the first offer and let them have him. Very true. I think it also has to be taken into account that he is your captain as well, I definitely think this should mean an extra few million should be paid. You not only have to replace a good player, but also your leader. I know an excellent replacement for you guys, as he has prem experience and is British too and so is well accustomed to the league. He is currently incarcerated and might be for a little while longer but please don't let that put you off ... Has Alan Smith been banged up n all like?

Kudos to O'Neill, Lerner and Villa. The big clubs need to know they can't bully teams/players around like they seem to think they can. The spanish waiter would be the first one to complain if it was say Barca acting like this to Torres. Liverpool have acted disgustingly in this whole affair, sting them for as much as possible. Think you should definitely be looking to get Finnan as part of the deal though even if his best days are behind him he is still a useful player and you definitely need a RB.

Impressed by both Arda and Derdiyok last night, an improvement on what we have and both can only get better you would think so lets hope the rumours are true. Particularly impressed with Derdiyok's workrate, would be a good replacement/competitor for Viduka's shirt and not overly expensive either i would imagine.

Fuck me if Milner and Shola leave, we'll making Villa's squad look huge.

Could be a very good buy them, can see him working well with Arteta. Definitely a step up from Lee Carsley (despite the good job Carsley did) Aye the same reports also say thery are in for Veloso Does everyone linked with one always have to be linked to t'other n all. Happens w/ every team. FWIW I think Veloso would be more suited to Everton's style of play.

I don't actually mind Beglin. Speaks what he actually thinks, not afraid to slate the favourites. Miles better than Mark Bright n'all. That is because there is nobody worse than Mark Bright. Better be an early goal in this since I'm ducking out of work early to catch the start of it.

Don't believe anything written by that old boozehound man. Anal doesn't know his arse from his elbow.

how come Eidur Gudjonsen is spelt differently? Weird geysers them Icelandic. -
Pavyluchenko has been a bit out of favour at Spartak of recent n all. Read somewhere he got dropped to the reserves after getting sent off or something along those lines and is only playing as Pogrenyak is injured.

Might've done but he's gone to Villareal so he was wasting his time.

Cup all day long for me, yes it's short term and aside from qualifying for Europe wouldn't bring much glory and yes no-one else would give a toss but it'd mean the world to me to see my football team winning some silveware. Not only for me but for the hoardes of people who have supported us for many a year without seeing us win anything of note.(1st division excluded). Edit: Plus we've already done the CL and winning the LC and getting in the UEFA would be a good step on building towards getting back in the CL.

Selling Ameobi to Norwich now and not Ipswich too.
-
Might not be the best two teams in the tournament but definitely the best atmosphere so far. Sounds loud a fuck on ITV, nonstop from both fans.

We have been linked with the Greek left back this summer, interesting to see him first hand.

Nope, used to be like that a long time ago, like in the middle-ages or something like that (history is not my best subject ). Pretty sure Iceland still uses that system though. Yup Bjarni Gudjonsson's dad is Gudjon Thodarsson (ex Stoke manager) -
Don't really want Taylor at RB though Can't Geremi play there comfortably enough or am I dreaming? Aye although he'd get murdered for pace. Be like a poorer Nobby playing there again. Would probably only work in a conventional 4-4-2

While people are talking about Cacapa, I thought we only got him in on a one year deal, is this true/false?

CB,DM,CM,CF for the first team at least LB,RW,LW (if Duff leaves) for reserve As many good youngsters as we can possibly attract

Given Dennis Wise's previous with taxi related incidents I think we'd be better off using a Transit.

Schalke seem to be building a decent squad now with their Gazprom money. Make the German league a bit more competitive instead of Bayern hoovering up all the talent.

Used to be same at Villa but they've turned themselves around so there is hope...
