    David Rozehnal

i went to Carlisle and thought he looked a class above the rest of the defence but he was playing next to Ramage and Carr so it doesn't say much. Seems to have composure on the ball which can only be a good thing.

    Emre must go.

I agree, we miss him when he doesnt play, particularly at home to teams that sit back as he is the one who drives us forward and makes us play through midfield instead of just humping it forward.
  3. I wonder if that was the special train that left after ours. We were on the 5:20, and it took nigh on 2 hours for us to get back. Talk about slow! Standing room only, and the cops on the outside kept telling people they had to move up the train but there was no where to move to. Bloody idiots! They just wanted rid of the NUFC fans asap. liar...it was 5 mins late after leaving late too allow(in my opinion )too many on,then waiting at prudhoe (i think )after someone pulled the chord.the guard said they were taking longer at each station to allow people a chance to fight through the crowd and get off.left carlisle about 5-25 arrived newcastle bang on 6 Aye it was, because at Prudhoe they didn't open the doors to let us off who wanted to get off there and train started to pull away again so the bloke pulled the brake, i was stood next to him, as he wanted to get off n all. Train i got after to come back into town for a night out had people getting soaked with the fire extinguisher, people pissing in the sink and standing on the table and all sorts. On a seperate note first time ive sat in the home end at an away match and i won't be in a hurry to do that again.
  4. bit of an arse, the a69 up that way is all single carriage n all, nevermind the trauma of having to step foot in Haltwhistle
  5. lookslike a shitty t-shirt you would expect to see the looky looky men on holiday selling.
  6. He's playing for 4th at a struggle. If we signed him, Heinze an equally good RB & Deco then i reckon we've got just a good a shout as Arsenal at 4th spot. Wouldn't underestimate Arsenal that badly. Providing they don't lose Fabregas they are still the same team as last seasons second half of the season which created a lot of chances that they didnt convert in most matches they didn't win (that i saw anyway, obv exceptions like game v us etc.) and Van Persie was just starting to hit top gear before he got crocked, plus Arsenal seem to perform better when they are being criticsed.
  7. I'll think you will find Earnie scored goals in the Premiership for both West Brom and for Norwich and i wouldn't be suprised to see him score 10+ goals for a poor (at the mo) Derby team next season. from wiki: He is second only to Thierry Henry in terms of goals-per-minute in Premiership history.
  8. Would pay through the nose to have a defender of his calibre here, not that he'd move (if he isn't happy playing for 3rd, he aint gonna be happy playing for 6th/7th)
  9. wouldnt be suprised if we aren't on the box much as it is based on position in the league from last season i believe plus we are 'another midtable team' so to speak.
  10. come back when Berbatov has two back to back seasons scoring 20+ league goals then we'll debate KD.
  11. seems like an uneccessary rule change in my eyes.
  12. Remember this - it was on Sky, in the ZDS cup or something - the reporter was in the centre circle during the toss up which was weird. Got that match on video somewhere i think, may have to dig it out.
  13. Derbyshire has looked a handy player whenever I have seen him. Excellent finisher, his goal tonight was typical of the ones he seems to score for Blackburn, pick the corner out with no bother. lookslike what would be a good version of Franny Jeffers with his style of play.
  14. Can you really not bring on a keeper for an outfield player? Even in extreme shortages? Seems harsh. Obviously they wouldn't both be able to use their hands like. Aye, James did at City like Greg mentioned. He wasn't brought on as a goalkeeper though. The substitution was Nicky Weaver on for Claudio Reyna. Funniest thing about that was Reyna's reaction, he didnt have a clue what was going on good tactics like that, he should try becoming England manager...(wait a minute)

    Sunday Gossips

Must be taking pens, either that or the whole of Italian football are letting him have a wonder season as he made sure that France's only possibility to win the World Cup went walking down the tunnel after spectacularly headbutting him! He has taken them in games i have seen. Pretty handy on free kicks on too (or he used to be at Everton)
  16. Andy Cole Peter Beardsley Les Ferdinand Alan Shearer Michael Owen Dwight Yorke Paul Scholes
  17. Dunno why we need to play Carlisle at SJP, surely just play them at Brunton and let them keep the receipts, no other prem teams ever play shit lower league teams at home do they?
  18. i quite enjoyed Joe Royle's so bad its good commentary on our games on 5 last season. The amateurish approach is a lot more endearing than John Motson reciting the 82/83 Rothmans year book every time he opens his mouth.
  19. he'd be a mug to go to Fulham, can't see him enjoying Sanchez's crazy gang tactics.
  20. the big question is though will he be accompanied by an oversize ice-cream if he is presenting a la Gazzetta.
  21. Was gonna post more or less the exact same thing but didnt want to hijack the thread. Anyone who cant see that Jenas has improved as a player since joining us is massively deluded. still massively overrated though which i think is the problem ie. the constant England call ups despite him never concievably(sp?) going to play, etc.
  22. Spot on. A good poacher will save his energy so that he can make a 100% burst to sneak a goal at any stage of the game. It gives me the shits when fans slate poachers for not chasing down lost causes or getting 'stuck in' in tackles. A good poacher will score you a goal in most games, whether you are on top or completely under the pump. Who cares whether they get stuck in or not. Started well on the poacher strikers but 2nd paragraph onwards was a load of bull. Cant believe someone actually agreed with that. Yes strikers do sometimes go under the radar to evade defenders but RVN lazy? Larsson lazy? Absolutely clueless. Inzaghi was lazy as fuck in that Champions League final.
