  1. 1 Red card for the opposition in 6 years in the Premier League since 2013 explain that? Must just be because we never have the ball So Mike Dean sees a blatant red card at SJP but doesn't give it because he DETESTS Newcastle United. Then someone tells him to look at a video. He looks at it, still LOATHES Newcastle United and so doesn't change his mind. I'm not seeing the moment where the VAR helps the HATED Newcastle United get more decisions in their favour from referees who ABHOR Newcastle United. The part where it will on average Even with Mike Dean having to be made to watch a replay will help make it harder for him to just pass off disgraceful incidents against Newcastle like he does without it.(Boly elbow on Perez, Rondon arm pulled out his socket in box but gives opposition a soft one instead, Didn’t send David Luiz off for last man against us but did Yedlin for last man, Didn’t advise for Pickford to be sent off when it was his job as 4th official to alert the Ref that he saw a Red card offence) Mike Dean doesn’t hate Newcastle though I mean how obvious does he need to make it With VAR though it will help us get more penalties and the opposition will get more Red cards than in the last 2 seasons combined. Or won’t we you seem sure it won’t?
  2. VAR is just there to help the Ref by showing him exactly what happened unfortunately the Referee failed to put the help to good use Can’t blame VAR for that most have put the help to good used. Only problem really has been the handball rule which again isn’t the fault of VAR that the rule in current form is terrible. But if somebody who is controlling VAR tells the referee to have a look at a possible red card offence then it's clearly going to put doubt in his mind. The ref didn't even give a foul before someone wrongly told him it was a possible red card offence Unfortunately this will always happen when people like Mike Dean are allowed on the planet On average though VAR will help get more things right in the long run. The current handball rule really needs improving though the current rule is too severe for the type of handballs they’re giving. I like the idea of indirect free kicks instead of penalties in regards to some types of handballs.

  5. The defender made a normal non aggressive tackle there was no intent to break his leg whatsoever. Very unfortunate to get a leg break from that type of tackle.
  6. Might be because the actual tackle wasn’t a Red card tackle Unfortunate leg break.
  7. Sounds like a Chairman that doesn’t mind the alternative of having just a cheap caretaker Interesting read nevertheless.
  8. I wouldn't be surprised if Pep moves to Juve in a couple of years and Sarri is like a transition between Allegri and Pep. Agree I think he will want to win Serie A next then retire fairly young at somewhere like PSG in the French league. He looks on a masterful career plan. Definitely think Jurgen Klopp will out stay him in the Premier League
  9. Waste why what does that bloke offer the Premier League Do we really need to watch a manager setup to concede 80+ goals in the Premier League? People like Jokanovic are the ones that make the Premier League look uncompetitive.
  10. None of the clubs outside the Big 6 have the manager to break the Big 6 unfortunately. Not a club with the money yet anyway
  11. Arsene Wenger is the one that disappointed me most refused to evolve once that George Graham back line went and never gave Arsenal that balance again. Which is why I think Rafa Benitez would be the perfect man for Arsenal he’d give that Arsenal side the balance they need
  12. Yeah can’t see them improving that much if he continues to neglect signing better defensive players this Summer His sides are always terrible without the football his Malaga side conceded 68 goals not sure he’ll ever have West Ham defending properly. Probably begged Kompany this summer to help him out. Their defenders are alright, could do with a right back but fine other than that. They just play very openly. Feel like you'd prefer if every team just parked the bus in every game I think they need two 1st choice full backs and a Top 8 defensive partner for Diop then they would at least see individual defensive improvements next season. You’re right though defensively they’ll never be great with his naive style of play the fact Fabianski had to make the most saves in the Premier League just shows that I just prefer managers that play with balance that also show they can win big games in multiple different ways. The likes of Mourinho, Rafa and now Jurgen Klopp are my personal favourites in that regard. Jurgen Klopp has evolved most in recent years in that regard he decided to respect the need for balance which is what turned his side into Title contenders and European cup winners. The improvement Jurgen Klopp has made to them defensively both collectively and individually has been the key for them

  14. only started last summer after the fans booted off no? Getting a brand new stadium with an extra 25k seats for pretty much free probably helps as well aye i was taking issue with the "every summer" bit, prior to last summer they weren't spending loads iirc According to transfermarkt, the season before they bought Arnautovic for £20m+, and Chicarito for £16m (Although making an overall net profit). The summer before THAT, they spent £75m (Ayre for £21m+), and recouped 36m. Hardly a major splash in the modern game though is it? They have also posted a profit the last couple of years, so they are hardly mortgaging the farm. For all the shit the owners get (and they are odious people) - they run it well from a commercial sense. No doubt not plastering it for free with their own companies advertising might help. Their net spend is near £160million since June 2016 if Maxi Gomez accepts the contract offer. Meanwhile ours is £4million net. They finished 10th last season which is a bit of an underachievement considering we finished 10th first season up
  15. Yeah he looks class. That dribble where he was surrounded by loads of Italian players was great and the goal was stunning I remember Rafa Benitez apparently trying to get him when he had a cut price contract situation at Real Betis. Ended up extending if I remember correctly then went to Real Madrid for big money I don’t know - I thought RM paid is buyout clause of about 13.5m euros Yeah can’t remember exactly. But I’m sure the articles of our cut price interest back then are still out there

  17. 0 shots on target each
  18. VAR was fantastic in the Copa America tonight Can’t wait for it in the Premier League.
  19. Not really becuase they won’t get more than £30million for Diop and they spent £22milion to get him in the first place
  20. iirc it wasn't so much missed in due diligence but never did it in the first place, anyone who did do due diligence before MA ran for the hills once they saw the books I think people need to remember that the club was a PLC before Ashley bought us and as a consequence had to publish far more detailed accounts. The only debt Ashley had to settle immediately was the remainder of the Mortgage for the expansion, which I believe was around £60M and had 5 or 6 years left to run. He started with the media crap, complaining about the fact we still owed cash on the Owen transfer etc, but as others who’d examined the accounts at the time pointed out we were owed more in outstanding transfer deals, than we owed to other clubs. Complaints by Ashley and his cronies to 5e contrary was the start of trying to lower our expectations IMHO. Interesting take.
  21. They are signing Joan Jordan as well for £15 million. Crazy to think they finished 10th last season same position as we did first season up also finished below us that season yet they’ve been able to spend about £200million net more than us from the similar league places Still waiting for Rafa just to be allowed it spend our TV/League placement money for the last 2 seasons. £4million net spend since June 2016.
  22. Any reason why Argentina played such a deep low block for the whole of extra time when 1 down at a World Cup? Very strange.
  23. Probably not Doubt Lee Charnley would have the football foresight to know Fulham would go down and would need to sell.
