How would expressing an opinion about Bell-end stop other signings from coming?
-
Dein would be great but it's been obvious he's sitting on his big pile of Arsenal shares and waiting to see what will happen. Meanwhile, it's remarkable what power Wenger has there. He not only gets the whole footballing set-up he wants, but even gets to appoint the director of football and pressure for Dein to return.

What does Shepherd's alleged "ambition" count for when it results in us plummetting from the CL-challenging heights we were at when he took over, to the midtable misery of the Souness and Roeder days?
-
I'm not particularly happy about us signing Barton as it goes, but the difference between him and Bell-end is that Barton hasn't burnt his bridges with us yet.
-
And "WHO IS DA BESTEST in five years' time?" is just beyond stupid.
-
If there's any truth in this, one factor might be that Viduka and Smith already know how to play with each other.
-
Where did Shearer say that, then? he didn't you tit. i just forgot to press the return key. you might want to take your bell end out of shearers arse though. Bellamy fans are so touchy.

Where did Shearer say that, then?

The clause, it has been reported, says he can leave at whatever price it is if we don't qualify for Europe and a Champions League club comes in for him. There's no way he's going to the Manc Mackems.

I think Shearer should mouth off as much as he wants and express his honest opinions more often.
-
The problem would be if one or both of the Owen and Martins clauses got activated late in the transfer window -- for example, by clubs who hadn't been able sign other, preferred targets -- leaving us with the cash but no time to replace the players. The money's almost irrelevant these days. Most every club in the Premiership has cash, but there's a real shortage of top-quality players to spend it on.

Yet another reason to thank the football gods that Fat Fred is on his way out.

Margaret bloody Thatcher was funnier than those, never mind Oscar Wilde.

Great idea. When he does an informal question and answer session he should not answer any questions.
-
Incidentally, re Shearer and Keane, I remember reading an interview with the latter where he was asked if there was any player he really would have liked to have played with. Keane apparently bit his lip, paused, and then admitted he'd have loved to have played with Shearer, and always regretted that Man U hadn't managed to sign him.

I'm sure that Allardyce will sign Bellamy if he wants to, whether Shearer thinks it's a good idea or not. So god knows why so many Bellamy fans are getting their panties in a twist about these remarks. And let's face it, Shearer knows more about the diminutive Welsh tosser than any of us on here.

Because 2 of those are Chelsea and Man U probably! And you know how much the media like those two! Aye, that must be it. When this story began to break, "the media" all got together around a great big table and agreed -- national papers, local papers, news agencies, TV stations, websites, uncle tom cobbley and all -- and agreed that not one of them would mention Man U or Chelsea because, from the Carlisle Courier to the Hastings Herald-Tribune, they all loved those clubs so much.

Was (is) a good site. Thanks for the work to keep us (and others) informed. I agree with those who think it would be a good idea to continue keeping an eye on the finances, though.

The stadium expansion/hotel plans were just that. Plans. There wasn't even any planning permission. No telling whether this will go forward under Ashley.

Looking forward to some new players making a Debut. Maybe we'll now sign Hunter-laar.

Cool.

Should read: "Are you one SAD bastard?"

He's cutting them loose a bit sooner than I expected, but it was always bound to come to this point eventually. I reckon he had this swashbuckling dream, and then found he'd spent a fortune to end up with cautious Mourinho-type football, and then realised you didn't necessarily win the Champions League even playing like that. So it's not as much fun as he thought it might be, unlike cruising around on some big fuck-off ship full of servants with his latest supermodel wife.

We didn't nick him from you. He left Bolton because he'd dragged your club about as far as it was capable of going. We then snapped him up when he was a free agent.
