Both in the starting XI, Dummet unlucky to see opening goal deflected in off him. St Mirren scored next three goals, Newton blasting home the third from just inside the area. Hearts grab a consolation with about 5mins left. nice to see our loanees have an impact

we're playing a genuine champs league team. They still have Cardozo, Gaitan, Aimar, Luisao, Carlos Martins, Maxi Perreirra, etc

Silly posters is silly. True, too many of them sadly.

Lucky manager is lucky. Fickle fans is fickle.

Those odds you checked online seem high, we're arsenal really 7/1 or more to win the game?

Shut it yank. Aye, some brown-nosing going on here from BC. You do know its not compulsory to be a miserable sod and slag off everything, just to fit in on N-O?

First SJP game: 27th Aug 1994 Queued for 3hrs in the morning up Barrack Road. NUFC 5 - 1 Southampton Steve Watson was amazing! First away game: 3rd December 1994, White Hart Lane Spurs 4 - 2 NUFC Ruel Fox got a brace and looked canny, think Sheringham bagged a hat trick First away game win: 22nd August 1995, Burden Park. Pies 1 - 3 NUFC Ferdinand scored a brace and I got to speak to some of the subs warming up.

Can't believe how fickle some people are on here*, Nixon does exactly the same thing (always trying to pass to his brother) in every game he plays - yet when he's on the losing team, he's slaughtered for it. Now it's being praised as the pinnacle of good play by the blue team... *whey, that bits a lie

Matty - feel free to peruse the previous match threads, pretty sure the exact same thing is suggested by more than one poster after each one just a sign of how much fun these matches are IMO

Think Swing Bowler is offering a bit of value if you want something e/w against the odds-on. Always be wary of short-priced favourites, most get turned over and the bookies LOVE it. I know I'm taking Simonsig and Quevega but its with some trepidation...

Dodging Bullets Simonsig Quantitativeasing Rock On Ruby Sizing Australia Quevega Carlito Brigante E/w trebles and 4-folds and acca. Main bet on the 3 shorter priced horses and SAe/w.

Would you another season of 'rubbish' performances if we won the waffa or league cup by the end of 2013/14? Just curious if you're more fussed about watching 'attacking' football or wanting to win things.

I think the jury is still out over how negative he is - I think he's still finding his feet with the raised expectations at a much bigger club (all due respect to WHU) and knows ultimately that results > performances. This worked to a treat last season, with favourable circumstances; not so good this season but, despite all of that, he's still got himself in position to have a good finish to the season and go into the summer riding the crest of optimism. If he can get a cup win, or something to put the crowd firmly behind him*, then he's only going to feel more secure in the position and open to being more adventurous. His FA Cup team was a good side to watch, I wouldn't say no to having a more balanced version of that, would you? *bear in mind that last season's over-achievements only served to heighten the disappointment at the November/December results this season.

Mojo, while we're playing the hypothetical game; if (by some miracle) we won the waffa cup, would you still be wanting Pards out (now, or even for the next few seasons)? I know that a few people were sceptical about last season's 5th placed finish and even more are reluctant to give him the benefit of the doubt for the more disappointing campaign that has followed. So if the 'achievements' of last season don't count for much in the immediate aftermath, how much of a grace period would a trophy bring? The record books don't record how well a team played, unless they're doing a Barca and smashing the goal-scoring records each season, so ultimately a club is judged on it's silverware (see: Arsenal 2006-present). Does Pardew have the possibility of 'immunity' if he wins the lottery of the Europa?

Bit harsh, he's played in more of these games than most and is registered on the forum.

Is that a question or a declarative statement, mate? Think it'd be a crying shame to get zero profit off a decent accy, so if you get that far into the slip, makes sense to ensure you walk away with something. Suppose it all depends on the weight of the hedge. I'm only going to put 70 or thereabouts against the -1 anyway. Little bit frustrating though, as recently my stakes have been £50, and they've won so no idea what compelled me to reduce my stake. Perhaps I thought this one was a bit more adventurous/less worthy of a higher stake. Bit of both, just wondering how much of the £870 you were willing to sacrifice to boost the guaranteed return. Had a view that you're a fairly risk averse bettor, so wondered if you would try and go 50/50 and save yourself the monetary anguish of 'cheering' home a 90th minute winner Aussiemag - why not now?
