  1. And is it a proper 90 minute match? or just a kickabout? 30 mins each way. FA linesman and ref. NUFC staff running the event. Supporters able to walk through Milburn entrance to watch game.
  2. Same. I was useless at it. Nah, you just had to have a bit of strategy. Identify the manics who'd go chasing to the end of the playground before anyone has taken a shot; wait for them to take the edge off then get a goal. Repeat until you were down to the last 3, then step it up (the other two would always assume you were going to sit back in the semi-final, no matter how many times you played the same strategy). Then you'd take your chances in the final and hope the other lad was knackered. Dodgy keepers were usually the pet hate in 'Wembley' (nae singles).
  3. That's just over evens. General price around. Totally depends on the team Pardew plays IMO
  4. £86.67 per person if all paid on time (was £80pp in 2010). Bit more expensive for a weekend slot IIRC but that should help those who work mon-fri and can't dash to SJP for a 6.30pm KO. Echo those people who have played before - you should definitely do it. Getting changed in the dressing room of the Keegan era was awesome, not to mention running through the tunnel and playing on SJP in front of a healthy crowd.
  5. every spin is randomly generated independently of the previous spins. People who believe there are patterns, ways to 'effectively play' or lucky slots are generally habitual gamblers who will lose a substantial amount of money on them over time.
  6. From when we did this last time, those people who had available funds on them and were interested got the booking done - then if they subsequently couldn't make it, there were plenty of people to sell the place onto...at a profit Nixon
  7. Celtic needed a Hartlepool winner to come out on top from the trixies. EDIT: also had a small in-play on over 2.5goals in the Celtic game at 0-2 £25 @ 11/8
  8. Tonight's bets Sheff Utd @ 7/5 Celtic @ 4/1 PSG @ 21/10 Trixie, 4 bets * £5.00 Middlesbrough @ 23/20 Hartlepool @ 17/20 Celtic or Draw @ 1/1 Trixie, 4 bets * £5.00 Sheff Utd @ 7/5 £50.00 Single
  9. How could Routledge possibly have proved him more wrong? Unless, of course, Alan Pardew does not value goals and assists. Goals and assists are the only thing you rate a player on? You must be all for bringing back Carroll and Nolan then. Not sure you've made the best supporting argument to your claim that Routledge is a better player than Gouffran, Cisse or Anita (to name three of the midfield or attacking players we've signed since selling him). FWIW, Amalfitano is probably his direct replacement (cheap, versatile wide player) but as we've seen bugger all of him in this first season, I couldn't say whether he's better than Routledge or not. Either way, that still doesn't mean that Routledge is a Premiership-quality player.
  10. Neither did Pardew and he sure proved him wrong. Better stats than anyone in our squad. We sure could use him right now especially as he plays where we are weakest/lacking any depth. Proved wrong how? He's been the benefactor of playing in a well-organised Swansea side who not only play to his strengths (quick passing around the park allows them to pull defences out of line for his pace to exploit) but have plenty of more dangerous players for the opposition to concentrate on, like his right back Angel Rangel - one of the most offensively minded RBs in the league. He still doesn't inspire me with confidence when he has time to think on the ball.
  11. Don't think Williamson is past his expiry date; just being forced into having to play him when his confidence is shot to pieces is the issue for me. He's a decent reserve for Europa/cup matches. Shouldn't be relied upon for a 40+ game season at premiership level. As fo Routledge, Spanish doctor at club, player has sudden surge in performance
  12. How do you rate the summer and Jan transfers (red, orange, green)? I know it's early days for the Jan transfer window but I'm definitely a bit more optimistic about them. How about our earlier signings - any revisions? Marveaux was the most difficult for me, I think he's a cracking player but we just haven't seen enough of him in the 18months he's been at the club to say he's been a success (some might suggest that means he's a red). Gosling is on the verge of dropping into the red zone - just hasn't been fit to challenge for a place. Have broken up the transfer periods to give a picture of how busy we were in each (and what type of player we brought in - youth/first team)
  13. He's changed his tune on the finer details a few times actually, but the general message has always been that he's as involved in the decision-making as anyone else out of him, Carr, Charnley and Llambias. He said only the other week that he was actively involved in the scouting of and decisions over whether or not he wanted the club to get Cabaye and Sissoko. Why do that if all he says is 'get me some playmakers'? I would speculate that after the Keegan fiasco, they've realised that the 'manager' will need to be involved at some stage before 'unwanted' players are foisted upon him. Maybe that's why we didn't see a great deal of activity under Hughton, as they were still waiting for someone who was 100% bought into the process to be installed.
  14. Barcelona beat Giggs in final?
  15. Wahey, a further £13.50! I'm on fire at the moment.
  16. Just under 250 (#248.22 including parlay bonus).
  17. Tbf, I wasn't being especially critical of the recent PR stunts; just amused by the total predictability of it. Predictable in the way that the Ashley-bashers (for want of a better term) aren't as vociferous, while the Ashley-bummers (for want of a better term) are not getting slated l, r & c for offering their optimistic views? There's no sea change in the mood from what I can see.

    Alan Pardew

I said it last season and I'll say it this season too. Pardew isn't the real reason for us finishing so high up. I'm sorry but we had a starting eleven very capable of that finish. We were riding a lot on confidence and tactically Pardew isn't great. James Perch and Jonas were important components of the starting XI which played last season. They're the same players Pardew is being lambasted for playing this season (ahead of a woefully out of form Tiote and youth/injured players).
  19. These are awesome. I love the score you've added, the suggestion of the FT score and date in the corner might be good. Excellent work though, geordie_b. Shall definitely purchase in some form when they're available.
