He's won the same professional accolades as Joe Kinnear and George Burley, would you want one of them running the club because of that? Did he or did he not? The point isn't about whether or not he deserved them, but if he's genuinely incompetent for the job (as Mick vociferously asserts), then why would he even consider resigning from the role that has allowed him to be richly rewarded for other people's efforts? In that instance, the only change we'll see is if the people running the club accept that Pardew isn't good enough and replace him - so Mick's complaint should be aimed at them.

? Not at you, the illiterate one with his standard riposte. I'm sure there's a few things Pards isn't getting right but the way some people go about bashing him is a bit ridic. Pre-match: he'll fuck this up by starting Shola and Jonas Half-time: Villa have been really shit (ignores team selection) Second-half: what the fuck are these tactics/subs (ignores the fact that Villa aren't as shit) Full-time: won in spite of him, he's wank, get him sacked. A lot of the criticisms are genuine and need to be addressed (one game with a 'squad' and a win) but there are people deliberately positioning themselves to give the players all of the credit and the manager all of the abuse to maintain their 'stance'. Haven't seem this much vitriol towards a winning manager for a long time. Seems odd. Winning fucking manager. Glenn Roeder has a better win percentage ffs. 3 wins in 19. Set the worst ever club away record in all competition. Never came back from behind in the league to win 16 months since last goal from a corner. I asked these questions week ago to which you never answered back since you completely ignore facts and just on what agenda you have, hence why your view of everything is so narrow-minded and pathetic. Dear Michael (there's a theme here), You haven't proposed any questions. Just hurled further abuse. Kind regards, Stu

Pardew is a poor manager who is holding us back and we could do a lot better than him if the people who ran the club knew what they were doing. Well, it appears your gripe is with the people running the club - if you're right about Pardew being out of his depth, then he's unlikely to relinquish the role voluntarily, especially if it's leading to him getting professional accolades and recognition in spite of his shortcomings.

He was out wide first half too...when we dominated the game, took a 2 goal lead and Cisse himself was one of the scorers. Must have been watching a different game to me, mate. Did we not dominate the first half? We did. Cisse played as the central striker first half though. Aye. Went out wide when Shola came on. So he played wide for 20 minutes.....20 minutes where we had one man in their half most the time anyway. Tactical blunder to be sacked for...after a win. Right. He should be sacked for the season so far, not today. christonabike. You can understand it from the forrin' lot who have only known us to have a managerial roundabout but I'd expect better from old-timers like yourself, Michael.

  10. think Tiote has been a victim of his own success, the more we've built him up, the more responsibility he's tried to take on...he was culpable for trying to play his way out of trouble early on (Blackburn at home IIRC) but it's become more frequent and the suspensions/yellow cards haven't dropped off....from a year ago (when he was relatively irreplaceable)...his form and fitness have resulted in a large-ish section of the support not being too concerned if he's sacrificed for the greater good. Still maintain that the policy of the owner/club is going to bear fruit in the long term - quite impressed that the enthusiasm of posters on here isn't about the amount of money we've spent, but the type/quality of player that we've brought in - seems that we're improving off the field and in the stands no end. Pleased to see NE1 become a hotbed of European culture...only adds to the area IMO
  11. Fair comment, I knew it would be picked up by someone re: timing but this is genuinely my first spare couple of days in the last 5mths. Have popped on intermittently but been scared off by the sheer vitriol - I know it's a result of the dire on field results (and Oct/Nov performances) but it's always way OTT, for me. Can't see Cabaye leaving in a month of Sundays, would be genuinely concerned if it was even mentioned (even for stupid money, like Carroll). His injury has only served to underline how important a player he is for us. Similary, I would have said Colo and Cisse before this season (wasn't so fussed about Ba due to the ongoing contract saga) but performances and the will he/wont he issue has obviously distorted my view of him. Getting ready to see Colo leave and hoping Tiote, if any, is the 'purple' sold to balance the books for Sissoko et al.
  12. Not sure why you bother tbh; if that's your definition of a 'horrible person' then I'd hate to think just how far removed from your 'Waaaaallsend' roots you've actually become. Or were you always in the group of kids sniffing glue to pretend the outside world wasn't real? I think it's only you and Neesy who bother with the personal stuff now (the company you're keeping says a lot); however, it's good to see from your last post that you're still maintaining a positive mindset towards the club. Seeing as Dave didn't answer the earlier question; which of our current squad would you be genuinely upset about selling if the board had to balance the books in the summer? Krul? HBA?
  13. Players with contracts expiring at end of season: (taken from .com) 5 Danny Simpson DEF English 06.2013 32 Xisco FWD Spanish 06.2013 37 Stephen Alan Harper GK English 06.2013 52 Dennis Knight MID English 06.2013 (18) n/a Michael Riley DEF English 06.2013 (18) + 9 other 'reserve' players (under 21 squad) who don't have contract info: Lee Desmond DEF Irish (18) Alex Gilliead FWD English (16) Jonathan "JJ" Hooper FWD English (19) Alex Kitchen DEF English (17) Marcus Maddison MID English (19) Brandon Miele MID Irish (18) Jonathan Mitchell GKR English (18) Alex Nicholson DEF English (18) Freddie Woodman GKR English (15) Confident there will be more players leaving from the first list than from the second. After last summer's 'overhaul' of the youth and reserve teams, I don't think we'll be throwing away another season of development. There's a group of about 8/9 lads who have been training with the first team, involved in the cup squads and playing regularly for the reserves/under 21s - they've all got another 18months on their contracts and need to show enough improvement to the coaching staff to warrant further first team exposure and gaining some trust from Pardew and Carver. Similarly, the likes of Abeid, Ferguson, Tavernier, Inman, Good, Sammy Ameobi, all need to continue their development on loan as first team opportunities are going to be hard to come by at NE1 and they need regular competitive football to get their confidence up.
  14. So, after 4 months of lamenting the club for not having the foresight to ensure we had experienced squad players to help cover for the first XI, you're immediately shipping out anyone who isn't a first choice player? Christ. Onabike. Xisco, Simpson, Colo - I can see a valid reason why they're gone in the summer. Shola, Harper, Elliot, Ryan Taylor, Williamson (!), Jonas, Gosling, Obertan - none are first choice starting players but all have Premiership experience (bar Elliot) and can do a job for us in the League Cup or give a first choice player the option to rest in a game, rather than play with a niggle and pick up a serious injury. None of them are on megabucks wages.
  15. IP - little or no internet access (outside of tapatalk), so I've not been able to spend 4 months responding to this kind of rhetoric... Some more prescient comments from the dark days of 2012 Either way, the "board" have done their bit, now it's up to the playing squad and management to justify the excitement.

Yep, sad as f***. Going around every thread as a pair with the same boring default position is sad as f***. Aye, two people with a similar position would be unacceptable like. You should be falling in line with the default forum opinion that Pardew is f***ing s**** and Ashley is a fat c*** who wants to make as much money as possible from player sales. Who do you think you are? I think its a bit more complicated then that but way to go with sweeping statements Deliberate?

  18. In club football, what's the highest level an 'all black' team has played at? (Would assume one of the African champions had fielded XI black players at the CWC?) Have there been any European teams to field an all black starting XI (specifically the central/western leagues)?
