I dont think that fella is a kid tbh, looked to me like he had some facial hair on ITV last night. He didn't sound like he had special needs either. When he was at the training thing I thought he had downs sydrome or something.

O2 Arena is probably the best we could hope for. Better than that Sports Direct shit, although we know O2 arnt interested, no one is.

How much profit was made last season? We spent something like 0.8 million net in the summer. Why not spend some of this expendable cash in the summer in the run up to a new season?

You were the one saying we won't get £10 million so I wanted to know what you thought we would get. Nobody wanted it last time because *****@St James' Park is awful, offering up a package and a shirt sponsoring deal makes sense for the sponsor, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if a new sponsor is already in place and asked for the full name as part of the package. If we get £8 million it will be excellent. My point is we're getting nothing for it, because it'll stay as Sports Direct Arena.

I've no idea how much it will bring in, why don't you enlighten me. Also, do you think Ashley actually has plans to sell the naming rights? He changed the name before and said he would showcase it for 1 season, that was 2 years ago and in that time he has covered SJP is Sports Direct advertising and the name remained The sportsdirect.com @ St James' Park stadium.

How much do you think the shirt sponsor and stadium naming is likely to bring in? We'll have to wait and see with the shirt sponsor. The stadium name though, I expect the same amount of money the club received for the last 2 years of naming rights - nothing.

Statement re the renaming of St James' Park Cabinet Member for Quality of Life, Coun Henri Murison, said: “The name of St James’ Park has been synonymous with Newcastle United football club and the city for more than 130 years. “It is recognised around the world and the decision to change it, without consultation, will upset the overwhelming majority of fans who loyally support the team week in and week out. “While I understand the commercial reasons for renaming sports venues when they relocate, this is not the case in this instance, and some things are beyond profit when they mean so much to people. “The football club is part of the beating heart of the city, and while the council values its relationship with the club, it has no plans to change any existing wayfinding signs which bear the name St James’ Park. “As far as the fans and Newcastle City Council are concerned, the home of Newcastle United will always be known as St James’ Park.” http://www.newcastle.gov.uk/news-story/statement-re-renaming-st-james-park

These quotes from Llambias sicken me: "I would hope to generate between £8m-10m a year, that will give us another player," Llambias told BBC Newcastle. "To compete we need to go further, we've had a fantastic start." "We need to give ourselves as much of a chance as possible." This is all just bullshit to keep the fans quiet. Does he really expect us to believe we will get £10 million for this? We know it will stay as the Sports Direct Arena. Also if a miracle happens and they do sell the rights, does he really expect us to believe the money will go on players? What, like it did with the Carroll money? All this shit about using the money to get players so we can compete is just drivel to get some of the fans on side. This clown cannot be trusted, just look at his quotes 2 years ago for proof of that. Also this quote was interesting: "The fans want us to buy more players, we need a new striker in January, we'll need replacements in the summer" Replacements in the summer?

IMO it's only different if you are a club like Wigan with no history worth mentioning, or an Arsenal building a new stadium and needing money to pay for it. With Newcastle though we have a ground as old as the club. 119 years of history right there. It IS as important as the kit and name for me, if anything those 3 things make the club (the crest too, but as we know that can change). The name, the colours and the stadium, together for all those years. It might sound like im romanticising the whole thing, but what is wrong with that? This is football, it means more to people than selling everything and anything for a few quid.

Every club in England? Really? I don't think so. You are also failing to see the point here, 99% of the clubs that do sell their naming rights get financially compensated for it, we are not. Do you really think for one second Ashley is forking out the tens of millions for the advertising boards, the signs above the stands, the sign on the Gallowgate roof, the signs around the stadium, the adverts on the website and club stores, the naming rights for the past 2 years and now this? You are a fool if you think any stadium in England's top 2 flights owned by their clubs will not be re named within the next 10 seasons. It has been proven worldwide that selling stadium naming rights is a successful source of income for every club in the world and a successful way of advertising for sponsors. Do you think the likes of Old Trafford would be sold for financial gain? Do you think we'd have sold the naming rights under the previous administration? An administration despite it's faults, had some pride in the club and recognised the heritage and history of the club, something that is important and needs to be preserved. If it is all about money then why not just rename the club after a company for a fee? Or as I said, redesign the kits? The stadium is just as important as both when it is one such as St James'.

Its a stadium. In the same place it has been for 119 years. I don't care what it is called as long as the club keeps playing at the same place wearing the same black and white stripes in front of the same Geordies who made me fall in love with the club from the other side of the world with the players and fans showing the same passion for the club that makes the club special. And what if those black and white stripes go as well some day? If a company offered £20 million to redesign the club's home shirt in their colours would you gladly accept that?

Ashley is selling a part of the clubs soul for nothing but personal gain. The club and fans have to simply deal with it until he moves on, that is the point here.

The club is just a stage for Ashley to promote Sports Direct, always has been. All that shit about trying to sell etc was nonsense to keep the fans off his back for a while as is most of the shit him and Llambias come out with. Keeping the wage bill down, selling our best players and buying cheap while maintaining Premier League status is just a way to keep the club ticking over financially while his bigger interest Sports Direct gets free advertising on a global scale. That's why the signs in SJP direct to the website and arnt just the company name. The man doesn't give one fuck about the fans, just his business and it is fucking terrifying thinking about what he will do next.

I remember the one time I bought from Sports Direct. The Newcastle shirt had the wrong printing on the back of it. I rang and asked for a full refund and they offered me a tenner to hold on to it. Sums that place up.
