Can't say I'm happy with this, I would have liked Nolan to have played for another season or two, but you can't blame him for going with the 5 year deal. I'll always remember him fondly for the Championship season and the memories of last season. He will always be a hero here for the Sunderland games as well. This whole thing just doesnt sit well with me. Why would the club want to sell Nolan after his performance last season? 12 goals from the midfield is fantastic, and yet here we are selling him for what will probably fuck all in todays market? Also why would the player himself want to move down to the Championship after scoring 12 Premier League goals last season? Its a bizarre move, Pardew's track record doesnt exactly fill me with confidence, but lets hope he knows what he is doing with this.

I hate this uncertainty with Nolan, he is a key man here at NUFC and I always thought he was the one you could put your money on being here next season. Its ridiculous that this is happening, it needs to be sorted ASAP imo, and by sorted I mean him still being here.

I'd look past Harper. Im not really a big fan of goalkeeper captains, I think the captain should be involved in the outfield play. For me it would still be Nolan, with Colo as VC.
