  1. It's a nice "triangle" of understanding between Trippier, Bruno and Miggy. It has potential.
  2. Wilson will be sharp when it actually starts getting serious i think. Think he is holding back now even.
  3. I'd be surprised, or even amazed if Fraser has that kind of season again, or even near. I don't think it's possible for him, physically. Not that you said it, i'm just saying.
  4. Howe can clearly work magic with some players and get them to perform better, i agree 100%. Then imagine what he could actually do and achieve with with 3 good ,even better players coming in...
  5. Even if Miggy is on form we need a winger. Someone that is better than Fraser and especially Murphy. We need options. You know form, inconsistency, injuries, suspensions, tactical reasons and so on. Let's not use Miggy as an excuse to not do what is absolutely necessary in this window. Winger/wide forward and backup for Wilson and i still insist on a CM of some kind. The don't all have to be extravagant signings, it can also be loans or whatever. But essential imo. People talk about two but i think that's faalling short. We can't sign too many players i know, but idealy i'd like even two CM. one however is a must if we wish to have the chance of a very good season over 38 games or so. Good squad players but i think the likes of Longstaff, Shelvey and Willock are overrated on here. All of them have good attributes but none of them are complete or quite good enough players to be starting too many games. Good enough against lesser sides aye. No matter what happens im very much looking forward to the new season, don't get me wrong. I just think it could be massive if we do all we can and have a great season to give us a very very good platform to kick on from, never mind making others take notice and this will help us massively in attracting new players going forward. Im sure we will get the players needed tbh, it's just that i can't stop gagging about another CM which i see as essential, even if not quite as important as a backup to Wilson and a wide player. Getting 3 more players isn't too much imo, especially since one of our signings so far has been one that was here on loan last season. Plus one a keeper and a CB. Good signings.
  6. Im not surprised. Said it before that i think his best is to come.
  7. Hypothetically i think Werner would be a good signing. Genuinely think he needs a fresh start and perhaps at the moment a restart in a currently "smaller pond" might be very good for him.
  8. Looks almost as fit and beefy like me tbf.
  9. After we got linked with Sesko he said that we had scouts in Leipzig watching him Too bad he doesn’t play for them..
  10. Om of the biggest frauds around.
  11. Surely not. If so that's a good price. Can't see Monaco selling this cheap though. They are tough.
  12. Diop will cost more than we are willing to pay I would guess.
  13. Im certain it wont get done anytime soon. Our valuations seem way off if numbers are to be believed. They will try and bleed us dry. Hopefully we wont give them as much time as we have done before.
  14. Aye. Doesn’t sound like a formula for positive progress.
  15. Some are really taking it bad when saying they are Ashley kind of signings. Not quite that far maybe, to be fair. But i think most get the idea that these would be very underwhelming and unconvincing. And NO, dont start with the delusional, unrealistic, expectations type of shite, forgot the last 14 years? and so on. Just because they are better than what we have doesn't mean it's the right signings, or very good ones. Howe has even said himself that the quality we are aiming towards isn't easy to get, and that we are fighting with big clubs for signings. As i've said before i can't see any of these happening, maybe Sarr at a stretch but even then im not sure. I think it's more likely that we go for top quality youngsters with great potential, thankfully. To me it feels like some people are already starting to defend possible underwhelming signings, that are even unlikely to happen To justify that everything we do is great, if they sign. Almost as trying to convince yourself that this is good, i can see this being good and so on. Defending something that isn't even reality yet. This is how you overrate players and decisions. All i'm saying is that i don't like these names at all. There's a middle ground between these and Paqueta/Diaby which im sure we will find. Also, there are some posters that are in panic, as well as some who overreact about people bed wetting when in reality it's not always justified either.
  16. Such Ashley signings it would be. Apart from Sarr.
  17. That list is horrible. Can't see it being true either. Bloody fucking hope so because if it is then we would need new decision makers Sarr is the only one i'd be ok with. The likes of Traore God! No thanks!
  18. FFP is over a 3 year period, kind of. Obviously does affect us but not to the degree some think. Having a really good season can only help us going forward, both financially and on a sporting level. Not signing a 40m player now but doing so a couple of windows ahead won’t make a difference. If anything it will help us. Hypothetically speaking of course. The signing has to be the right player first and foremost and not costing ridiculous amounts more than the player is actually worth. We are wise to keep our powder dry as we are if the we can’t get the right player and deal, but ffp doesn’t change much really. It’s mostly about us not wanting to pay astronomical sums or being held to ransom, as in the long term it would affect us. This doesn’t mean that we can’t fix 3 key positions. We just gotta go the cheaper route, and go for top rated younger players with massive potential. I would love it if we went this route instead of overpaying for “ready” players, or at least too many of them. It’s not sustainable. Especially not this early.
  19. I think Lingard will be poor for them overall. Maybe do well in the beginning and then totally fade away performance wise as the season goes on.
  20. This is something you made up in your head? There are tons of other options that would strengthen and improve our team and squad in many ways compared to now. It doesn't have to be Osimhen, Paqueta and Diaby for example. But personally i see these three positions as key if we wish to improve and end up having a VERY good window. It doesn't have to cost a bomb, neither is it something i demand or expect. In an ideal world i would love Paqueta, or an even dreamier signing that is extremely unrealistic like Osimhen. For example, Sesko, Madueke and Sucic are three i'd rather have than the ones you mentioned, apart from maybe Paqueta. If that is still too expensive then skip Madueke and get someone like CHO on loan and we still would have a great window getting these 3 key positions sorted out. Or any other midfielder that fits the bill, whether that is a more defensive or attacking minded, or box to box. These 3 would improve us massively overall without any of them being ridiculously expensive. Toney? Wouldn't want, maybe if below 30m.
  21. Not bad winning the Serie A despite being a mess. Also having some top top quality players.
  22. Agree to an extent. Some people bed wet too much tbh. No doubt about that. I also feel like quite a few overreact about it sometimes making a bigger deal of it than it is in some cases. I’m talking in general here.
  23. Hard to argue with this. Deals that should be done imo if we aim to be ambitious.
  24. Yes you're right. The squad isn't good enough for top 8 as it is now. Hopefully it will be better soon if we are ambitious.
