Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

Aye of course mate. I think he has some good attributes but he will always be too limited. Looking better than Hendrick and Colback doesn’t make a footballer imo. -

Difficult situations = tight spaces, under pressure, no time on the ball and so on. That is why he goes too deep. Also how many goals or assists does he contribute with? I know he is good technically and has a good foot but he lacks too much other stuff to make it any level higher than midtable regular at best. Kaka, quit the bias made up bullshit. -

Or people have only watched Shelvey when we are in possession. Not what he is doing off the ball. Plus he needs time and space to create anything. A reason why he goes brutally deep more often than not. -

I did. Him chasing ghosts when playing better players. Not dynamic enough. Also when put under pressure from better sides he struggles to do anything of sort of come out of difficult situations. I have watched him very closely during many games. When he goes too deep then he does some things well but then we lose an option when he goes so deep because he’s playing as a QB -

Yet people are happy to see him in and around the team. Naive as fuck. -
We haven’t managed to get a proper striker or a quality RW in in almost 8 months now. We definitely shouldn’t be selling ASM. Also, the potential of him is worth more than we would get for him now.
-
No point in waiting. Get it done!

Ando… People still think planet earth is flat…
-
Arsenal after Diaby now? Numerous people on twitter saying it.
-
Fingers crossed we get someone in soon so they can be ready asap. Don’t really care too much if loans or not. Would like Paqueta on a permanent. Would be a statement even if the rest one or two are loans. Seems hard to find the real quality that is available and willing to come. That doesn’t cost twice the market value too obviously.
-
Never mind…. Also, aye, I’m pretty damn good when it comes to partying and entertainment. You wouldn’t know though. Enjoy your day.

Seems like you didn’t even read/ignored my posts before where I was talking goals in open play one or even two times. So I’m not sure why you replied if you didn’t even read my posts. I said like 6 goals from open play and you started talking 14 goals, when was the last time we had a striker like that.. Pretty obvious what I meant and what my argument was. Chill down with language!
-
I don’t know. I was just wondering what made you think he would score 15 goals next season. Service must be extremely bad if he triples his goal tally from one season to the other playing for another team..
-
Was even half of them scored in open play though?

Deadline day Isnt exactly ideal. Would avoid every day of the week if possible. Would mean we haven’t done it right 90% of the window. Stupid to leave it to “chance”. Deadline day should only be for signings after all the must do ones are made. After that we should be open minded. If the opportunity comes up then a signing could be a bonus on deadline day.
-
Dude, you are totally overreacting and reading waaayy too much into my post. I have no panic whatsoever There’s still plenty of time. I’m just stating the obvious, hypothetically IF we don’t fulfill from our side and don’t progress then that is the way it will go. I’m sure we will get some players in, but I also think it’s going a bit slow and that probably has to do about many reasons, absolutely not necessarily our fault either. So far we have only made one “proper” signing. Pope was from a relegation team and Targett was already all but done. I’m sure there’s more to come. The market is insane and inflated right now. Sooner or later we might have to accept that we have to pay a bit extra to get deals done. I think the club is doing it the right way now, with patience and not just wasting money as if there was no tomorrow. End of the day though, we must get some players in. Yea, they need to be the right ones too.

3 weeks until the season starts.
-
What makes you think he will score this many? Didn’t he score like 6 goals last season in the league if you don’t count penalties. Overrated and expensive.
-
Spend how much it takes to keep our promise to Bruno and more He wouldn’t have come here IF we were signing the likes of Dennis and Broja on loan and so on. Not that I have any clue on what he has been promised. I assume it’s more ambition than this. But also, step by step as the man himself has said. We need to do well and show signs of progress relatively quickly or players like Bruno won’t be staying.
-
How much would someone like Madueke cost? A player with much higher ceiling potentially. One that can grow into a top quality PL player relatively fast?
-
I’d be happy/content with Harrison as long as it’s not more than 25m. Would be a solid addition and mean that we can spend more money elsewhere. Say Paqueta or Nunes or Fofana. Also a young quality striker. For 25 he could automatically become a very good squad player for next season too.
-
Didn’t Toney score even less goals than Mitrovic did in his first season? In open play that is. If so then why would Toney be considered good enough for us now when you think of the direction we aim to take. Might as well flush the money down the toilet instead of spending that much on a backup player. Get a young very very promising striker and then next summer go big if we can attract the top quality we need.
-
We have the chance to add a player that is at least as good as him. Hopefully we go for Paqueta even if it means going for a less proven RW. If we can’t find the right one. Should not miss out on the opportunity.
