  1. I bet you cry at the two minute filler interviews on This Morning when Tracey Pleb's son has died or something. If you think Perez shooting was the right decision then you're either mental or blind fwiw. Or just a massive wum http://i.imgur.com/pcrguVyl.jpg That doesn't help your case to be honest. I was wondering what I was supposed to be missing. Pass it square. Slightly infront of him. Don't shoot. Don't twat it so it could have feasibly left the atmosphere, just play a simple 5 metre square ball. You're all mad. Even if the pass was perfect (not easy when you're running full tilt), that last defender still has a good chance of sliding in to knock the ball away. Or otherwise blocking a shot. For the pass to be the better option in that situation, the team-mate needs to be far more isolated than that.

  3. We improved a lot in the last half hour, but I'd agree about the lack of leadership. There's no stand-out candidate. Lascelles is still on a learning curve as a defender and seems a bit quiet. Shelvey played well and is our playmaker, but he seemed to do a lot of moaning and gesticulating that didn't look that helpful.

Did well when he came on, and deserves to start. Gouffran offers very little from the wing, and if anything is a liability.

If you think Perez shooting was the right decision then you're either mental or blind fwiw. You need to take another look at it. There was a defender only about a yard away from Ritchie who would have had a good chance of cutting off a pass or blocking his shot. It's a matter of playing the percentages. You have to shoot in a position like that unless there's a team-mate completely free.
  6. It's darlow's fault clearly. I don't think he had time to react personally. He can, at the least, tell Clark to leave it. Definitely Darlow's fault imo. The cross was quite fast and low. I just don't think the defender would leave it even if there was a shout, and I still think it all just happened a fraction too fast. I agree. People aren't taking into account the quality of the cross.
  7. We looked a lot better in the last half hour, when Gouffran was shifted away from the wing. The shape looked much better, and we created enough chances to win. Not much you could say about the own goal. It was a very good cross, and not obviously the keeper's ball, with Clark there. Shit happens. I felt a bit sorry for Ayoze and the two missed chances. He was right to shoot for the first. He was 12 yards out with the only the keeper to beat, and it wouldn't have been easy to find Ritchie. But as they said, the bollocking must have got to him, because then he tried to cross when he should have shot a few minutes later. I'm down about the result, but encouraged by the performance in the last half hour, when we seemed to rediscover our mojo.
  8. We're not playing as a team, and there's a lack of aggression. Gouffran has been dismal in attack. Perez has been okay in flashes, but doesn't seem to give a shit any more. I'd stick on Diame and Sammy.
  9. It was pretty obvious from the short interview with Allardyce on Sky that he was determined to keep Townsend and that Townsend wanted to go. We don't know the full story, but I think there was more to it than Palace naming a price and us refusing to meet it.
  10. I was taking a good look at him last night, and yes, he really was amazing. Even if a player got past him, he was quick and nimble enough to get in a second challenge. And so it would go on until he won it. He would emerge with the ball from situations where he had no right to get near it. He is the chief reason why Leicester won the League last year, and why Chelsea are so far clear at the moment. He must be a nightmare to play against.
  11. I was very pleased when we landed him first time round, but less enthusiastic this time. The unknown but troubling factor would have been the impact on the squad of a player who jumped ship a few months ago, and then comes back like some returning hero. I don't think Rafa is particularly mindful of that kind of consideration though. The other worrying thing about Townsend is he never seems to settle anywhere for long.
  12. I think a deal for Townsend will go through at the last minute. Everyone's playing hardball, including the player I suspect, but it makes sense all round.
  13. Watching Southampton this last week, I've been very impressed by Josh Sims. He's only 19, and looks a great prospect.
  14. Very probs. Whatever the opinion of Colback on here, Rafa has used him enough times to indicate that he believes in his contribution.
  15. My beef with Mitrovic is that he doesn't seem to care that much. He seems a happy-go-lucky character, but a bit immature. I'm not sure that he works hard enough on his fitness or on the technical side. Last season, a lot depended on his signing working out, and of course it didn't.

Read that without context Figured he'd had a new contract That's next month's news. Mwahahahaha.

It sounds like Rafa sees the player as a squad player who can fill in if we have an injury crisis and promotion is threatened. Barrow doesn't seem to be better than the players we've already got, so a permanent move doesn't make any sense. Swansea, on the other hand, need to replace the player and need a transfer fee. Impasse.

He seems to be a good athlete with poor technique. That kind of player ends up as a disappointment.
  19. It seems that Townsend wants to hedge his bets by leaving on a loan deal, but that's no good to Palace. They need to sell him so that they can use the fee to get a replacement. This lad never seems to settle anywhere.
  20. He did well for us before, but I'm not sure what the rest of the squad are going to feel. He deserted the sinking ship, now he wants to come back but he's going to piss off again if we don't get promoted. Not exactly committed to the cause.

Sounds like a perfect day I'm not sure why his career stalled after a promising start, but it's not easy now for a young player to come through the ranks at a Premiership club, and particularly one where there's a bit of pressure and the manager will find it difficult to take risks. Dummett's the only recent one who springs to mind, and that was after a loan spell. Sammy's interview on NUFC tv was interesting. I did wonder whether he had previously suffered a slight dose of Rangeritis. (and I stress the word slight) Things had maybe been a bit easy, he'd got into the first team and perhaps he then took his foot off the gas. The reality is that unless a player has a continuing commitment to improve, then he'll slip backwards. It sounds like he did well yesterday, so fingers crossed. Rafa may be conservative and stubborn, but I think he's also fair-minded and will judge him on what he sees.
  22. He should see that push on Sterling mind. Ref, Linesman, 4th official one of them has to see it. I think that's the referee's responsibility. The push was easy to see and I think he saw it as well, he just didn't want to make the decision. There is this odd convention that referees are far more likely to give a foul if the player actually falls over.
  23. Looks too good to be true. Or else there's a catch.
