  1. What? By Barton's agent?
  2. If it's true he wouldn't sign unless he got a 4 year deal then we did the right thing in withdrawing the 3 year contract IMO. Him and Nolan tried to use each other as leverage for big money and now are on a wrecking mission because their bluff was called. It's footballs equivalent of a scorched earth policy.
  3. But he said on Talksport Joey wasn't offered a contract at all. Ashley and Derek are the only liars as has been proven. Willie McKay is a veritable angel from heaven whose words are nuggets of truth blessed from above.
  4. He's not average. Of course he is. He has no pace, lacks stamina and doesn't score many goals. He's a decent set piece taker and has good passing skills but in general he's a very limited player. He was performing well in a side that was at times perfect for him. This is what I have said many times here. Not a popular opinion but that's not a surprise.
  5. Fair's probably not the best term for it. If he wanted to go there he could just as easily have handed in a transfer request rather than opening a twitter account to spread s**** and lower the fee for the club that's tapping him up. Care to explain why, if he was so desperate to go as is claimed, there was any need for the Twitter bollocks (or a transfer request), when the club were trying to sell him anyway? I've asked this about 10 times in this thread and still not had a decent answer. What do you expect the club to do if his contract isn't going to be renewed? Try to give him away for free? He still had a year left by the way, Pardew seemed more than happy for him to stay and play on, and Ashley was reportedly okay with players seeing their final year out. Obviously he'd prefer to sell but the player doesn't have to leave if he doesn't want to.
  6. Fair's probably not the best term for it. If he wanted to go there he could just as easily have handed in a transfer request rather than opening a twitter account to spread shite and lower the fee for the club that's tapping him up. and if we wanted to keep him we could've given him a fair contract this summer. we dont want to keep him because we dont want to pay what he's worth as a footballer, again. At the moment it looks like no one else wants to pay him what he's worth either unless they get him on a free. If he's all that you would have thought these mega clubs would have stumped up the odd million or so it would have took to buy him rather than resort to getting him to play up and reduce the fee to nowt. Tron, why do you always need your mind made up for you on a player depending on which club they sign for? I can make up my own mind and Barton wide right is absolute quality. By your logic, all our players are automatically shit by virtue of playing for us. My view on Barton is the same as it's always been. He's a decent player for a mid table premier team. I'd be happy for him to be here in the right circumstances but I don't think he needs a contract for life to stay here. He wasn't so great in central midfield and if we lose him out wide we have an option to bring in someone with a bit more pace. These players aren't superstars, they are decent at best. The real issue is whether we will actually replace them, and that's where I have my doubts.
  7. I think we'll only know the real answer to this in a year or two. Villa and Liverpool have been spending like crazy for a few years but Villa are now selling to buy, and Liverpool were up shit creek if the previous owners hadn't taken the fall for their recklessness. There has to be a wage structure in place, what might be questioned is whether we have set it too low.
  8. You don't think Marveaux, Cabaye and Ben Arfa are good additions? That's beside the point. How does taking that stance aid the Cocknee Wankas Out campaign?

  11. Barton must be gutted the club didn't put him on the transfer list. No loyalty bonus for you, you grasping conniving scamp
  12. Its pretty odd like. The overreaction on here to some twitter comments was strange enough, let alone this. You're both living in a fucking fairly land if you think its fine for a player to continually slate his employer in public. I'd love to see these same people slate their own employers in public then still walk into the office expecting a pay cheque.
  13. This twitter business is a lark isn't it Joey? #helmet
  14. Barton has been angling for this ever since signing up for twitter. No intention of giving 100% for the final year of his highly paid contract despite all the big talk. I'm amazed so many people are ignoring this despite Ashley bashing being the easy option.
  15. Aye. The people apologising for this 65k/week cunt make me vomit.
  16. Joey has got what he wanted. Now he'll fight for his loyalty bonus claiming he never wanted to leave while sabotaging the club from the inside like an aids virus.
  17. I think we will perhaps have a rocky start as we are losing players who are trying to rock the boat. In the long run we need to ditch these guys as they are bitter that they can't cash in any more and are going to create strife within the camp. We can definitely recover but it depends on how Ashley and co handle the departures.
  18. Pardew must be proper pissed off after giving Joey his backing to play with 100% commitment this season. What a conniving cunt Barton has turned out to be. .
  19. Top post. Don't let the door hit your arses on the way out you spongeing twats.
  20. Suppose he's lying as well..... He can always get a better contract somewhere else. He signed a 5 year deal here quick enough.
  21. Aye. We don't want players with any genuine talent at the club. The players who are whining most about the bad morale are those on cushy contracts and want them renewed. I've got no beef with them trying to get better deals but to be creating a rift with the new lads because they are replacing their mates is going too far.
  22. Piss off Joey and take Enrique with you.

    Kevin Nolan

You look around at some of the things that happen in football and you wonder what is a normal way to run a football club. Some of the decisions owners/boards make are baffling to put it mildly and the way they implement them even more so. However it's hard to disagree with your point that Ashley's regime has created more havoc than most. I think he could put quite a lot right by simply replacing Llambias with someone who knows what they are doing. I think Llambias is doing exactly the job Mike Ashley wants him to. Ashley has had ample opportunity to bring in a chairman who has a better football pedigree but Dekka's still here. I don't really know what to make of the transfer dealings so far. We've made some good progress in some areas but we clearly still need reinforcements in others. If we don't get a striker and a left back in while letting Enrique go, then it would seem obvious that Ashley wants to spend only enough to keep the club going without sinking any more cash in. As a fan I could quite understand if people vote with their feet and don't renew their season tickets. Ashley's running a business at the end of the day and he either gives the customers value for money or he loses them.
  24. My point is that Barton wasn't a Shepherd signing, I thought that was obvious. In that case my point is that Nolan was well paid as a Nebwcastle player and he should thank Ashley and Llambias from the bottom of his heart for raising his profile and pay packet for the last two years and next five onwards instead of bleating about being hard done by. He could have been stuck in Bolton reserves under Gary Megson instead after all. I swear your posts get worse and worse by the day, and that's quite a feat, considering the the first post I ever read of yours was you saying that Newcastle didn't win the First Division in 92/93 That's the shittest comment I've read for quite some time. Irrelevant to the subject and having to refer to some offhand remark I made years ago to get a dig in. You should really stick to Skunkers or some other charv forum if you can't whinge constructively.
