    Alan Pardew

Probably not far off the mark with that appraisal. Pardew strikes me as someone who has the tools to be half a decent manager if he wasn't such a knob.
  2. I'd rather we didn't rush him back tbh. This talk of Gosling being involved as well just smacks of Pardew panic to me. Was the talk of him featuring in our last 3 games Pardew panic as well? That was Pardew bullshit. Subtle difference.

Its brilliant, the trademark mythical £30k figure appears then its a free for all...... I'd like to think I did my bit this time with the "looking to triple his 10k with Brum" post

  5. I am now yo-yoing to the view that we will get something out of this game just because it seems impossible and the mackems can't help falling flat on their already flat faces every time they start getting too confident.
  6. Not really but there you go. Two for the price of one.

he just doesn't know what to do after that. he normally gets confused and kicks the ball into the stands. If we could get him to run past his man then Raylor to step in and cross it we'd be on a winner

Routledge can't beat his man. Routledge doesn't have a good cross. Routledge isn't a dead ball specialist. Raylor can't run with the ball without falling over or kicking the turf. But yes he can deliver a nice free kick when the ball is stationary.

Must be asking for +£25k at the very least. Heard somewhere that he was looking to triple his current 10k deal at Brum. Speculation but it sounds plausible enough.

That explains why he is holding out for Liverpool then. Not many clubs are splashing out on big wages these days unless they are playing European football regularly. We should press on for a mobile striker instead.
  11. Not at all, Best did nothing wrong. Yes he was substituted at half time but that was because the manager's a fucking twat who failed to grasp that the problem was in midfield.

    Alan Pardew

FWIW despite the fact I never rated Pardew to begin with I don't want him to fail. I would love him to make a success of this job because we need to move forward as a club. The Stevenage game has set the Souness alarm bells ringing though. Not because of the result but the sheer number of avoidable mistakes which Pardew made in his selection then his use of substitutes. Pardew single handedly lost that game with his inept management. Hopefully it was just a bad day at the office but my fear is the players will have started to see through him and this will affect morale. While it's true it's early to judge him as a manager it's difficult not to have the nagging fear that he's just a flash talking bell end.

There are players who you would expect to be hesitant to sign for us. like Mikey Owen or HBA for that fact. For some reason I always thought someone like Larsson would jump at the chance to sign for a "big" club like Newcastle. Not saying he isn't entitled to weigh up other options, he can weigh them, scrutinise them then juggle them in each hand before making a decision. But if he's not sold on it then he's probably not the right player for us. That is what I mean. In other words he can fuck off.

    Alan Pardew

That's because Pardew was stupid enough to think Smith is competent and then completely fucked things up by panicking and throwing on Tiote, a player who should have been wrapped in cotton wool for the derby game. Pardew made some horrendous mistakes against Stevenage and he has his work cut out to convince me he isn't a bumbling twat beyond redemption.

    Sebastian Larsson

This is my point. Yes Larsson is within his rights to wait and see but he is willing to risk losing the chance to play for us as a result so he doesn't seem to want it that badly. Nothing wrong with that but then it means he's probably not the player for us.

    Sebastian Larsson

But why would he come to NUFC except for a good deal? He has no affection for the club. Fair enough if he signs for QPR or someone it'll be ridiculous, but he's entitled to consider his options. Maybe so but we deserve players who will crawl over broken glass to sign for us. When HBA refused to speak to other clubs because he had his heart set on Newcastle a standard was set. Larsson isn't fit to clean Ben Arfa's boots so he can piss off frankly.

    Sebastian Larsson

He'd have been a useful addition but he's not exactly Ben Arfa. Hopefully the next wide player we sign will have some pace which was a concern with Larsson in any case.

He doesn't want to be here so he can fuck off. Next.
  19. The one thing in our favour is that Sunderland are going to be overwhelming favourites due to the injuries, suspensions and Pardew's suicidal management. It just might blow up in their faces like it did at St James.

Guthrie doesn't even want the ball most of the time. He's happy to stay in the background and hope it doesn't come his way. Anyone who thinks he is the answer is in for a disappointment.
  21. Even Campbell has looked good in games, but seems to run out of steam as the game goes on. People are just being picky here, central defence is not a major concern at the moment. Yes we would like to improve it but just about every other position is more urgent.
  22. souness no? doesn't that explain everything? Yes it does.
  23. This came about due to Pardew's brain fart to bring him on at 2-0 down in a cup game. The derby game should have been a priority and it was madness to put Tiote's participation at risk.
  24. Might have to start Danny Gutless. Although he's the last player you'd want in the trenches in a derby match, Sunderland's midfield isn't great so he might not be a disaster.
