  1. FYP They've got home advantage so I'm allowed some licence to exaggerate.
  2. We have bossed this game it would be criminal not to win it now.

    Danny Guthrie

He can do the first two but he just needs to discover a set of balls.
  4. Plus he would probably look more effective with Lovenkrands playing off him. Shola's a difficult partner for anyone.
  5. Thank fuck he hasn't cost us the game in that first 45 mins.
  6. So much for Pardew's bullshit about going on the front foot. Smith is there purely as a stopper and a clumsy one at that.
  7. Two words: Sebastien Bassong.
  8. song is a better player but not at what tiote does. if that makes sense. or put it another way, Song isn't a better player. Let's see who has the bigger resale value come the end of the season.
  9. Gets some very unfair slating given what he did for us last year. Alright, he seems to have a mental block on stepping up to the Premier League (I'm convinced the ability is there cos I've seen him give Jose Enrique the runaround) but the vitriol is unnecessary. A mental block is a pretty big problem at a club like Newcastle. For a lad with his ability it's a crime he's not making more of it.
  10. i'll give it a go. gordon onouha ferdinand bramble bardsley elmohamady henderson richardson zenden bent gyan richardson left back, bardsley to the right, onouha in the middle if clattermole fit. weak in the middle of the park, shame we'll be too otherwise I'd fancy us. If Cattermole does play Barton could have a field day against Richardson but on the same premise they'd be a lot more dangerous down the left. Their forwards are the only ones that concern me. Bent and Gyan will take some looking after.

    Sunderland...

West Ham have let in almost twice as many goals as the mackems, they are like chalk and cheese. But the mackems don't handle big strikers too well. Carroll and Shola terrorised them at St James.
  12. Pardew was talking about how the experienced players are going to be vital tomorrow. If that means Smith playing next to Nolan he might as well raise the white flag now. thinking that way would mean campbell aswell. i think (well, hope really) he just means the experienced lads in the team ie barton, nolan, colo, shola. Hopefully that's what he meant. The fact that we don't really have a defensive midfielder to replace Tiote has me worried though. Pardew might give Smith another shot at it. ironically when barton has played in the middle he's tried to play that role even when tiotes been in the team. True, he sits too deep when in the centre. I would rather have Guthrie in the team than Smith though, and considering what I think of him that's saying something.

    Sunderland...

Sunderland are not West Ham and the atmosphere is something that Shola will thrive on, it's one of those games he'll be up for. Oh yeah....as long as Shola is fully fit.

I wouldn't be too bothered if we have Best and Loven up front. They worked well together against West Ham.

  17. We wouldn't be releasing Routledge unless someone's coming in. We obviously have to get someone off the wage bill to make the books balance if he's going on loan.
  18. I think our best bet of holding onto him is if we can get HBA playing again and we finish the season strongly. If we can stay in the top 10 we can hope that Ashley will start feeling ambitious next season with another season's pot of premier money in the bank.
  19. Merson reckons he'll be at a top 6 club next season. Wish I could disagree but honestly...?
  20. Brutally honest as always. It's a shame he couldn't have reached through the camera and twatted Merson and Le Tissier though. Smug bastards.
