Bolton were just lucky to be playing our weakest team this season. a couple of quality midfielders added to the side and teams like this would be shown up for what they are. Talentless turds who's only ambition is to grind their way to another season of toil in the Premier.

Source: http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/s/1032812_hince_third_tyne_lucky FYI, we were 'warned' of Keegan's tendency to spit the dummy when he refued to speak to SBR for years for discarding him from the England squad. That was BEFORE Keegan came to Newcastle to write his name in folklore. Tell us something new mate.

Kev's a nice bloke. A good guy. Would help your Gran across the road and the rest. Keegan's a great friend but it's not a good idea to cross him. He was clarifying how he would support Barton to the hilt 100% but amidst all the praise of Barton's abilities, he slipped in the message that he'd been let down by Barton before. There's a precedence here; Barry Venison was club captain and one of the most gifted defenders on our books during our meteoric rise towards the top in Keegans last spell. He was sacked as captain and sold for taking the younger lads on a drinking session at the wrong time and place. Barton isn't the equivalent to the shit on Venison's shoes as a man or a player, so he should take note. He'll either shape up or be turfed out on his over-exposed arse sooner rather than later if he doesn't heed the warning.

How do you measure what makes a big club? If Wigan were to win the FA cup would that bit of silver make them a big club. Did winning the Carling Cup make 'boro any bigger or just the same shit club with a trophy? 52,000 every week through the turnstiles...if 'boro or Wigan were getting that, I'd honestly call them big clubs. No word of a lie.

This is what I mean. I just logged onto the Daily Telegraph site and the first story I see: You can read the rest of this rant here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml;jsessionid=JUD20FYHEZPVNQFIQMFSFF4AVCBQ0IV0?xml=/sport/2008/01/18/sfnjim118.xml That's a professional writer. The readers join in to stick the boot in further down the page, with one or two decent types firing back, but you get the gist.

I don't get it. Keegan's good for the game, his football excites people. The last time he was in charge every time you went outside the city, if you were in Manchester or London, people wanted to talk about Newcastle United. Everyone was spellbound by us. Maybe the mongs who are coming on phone-ins, or giving views on News sites aren't representative.
-
Has anyone else noticed it? 'Fans' of other clubs jamming the message boards and airwaves foaming at the mouth to diss Keegan's return, moaning at the media hype. Absolutely furious that we are all so confident it will work. Is it fear? Fear that Keegan just might set Newcastle on another charge to the summit? Every time I read a news article online, there's a bunch of rabid replies posted outraged that we think our club belongs up there. It reminds me of those horror films where confronted by the Slayer (our Kev) , the vampires are hissing and baring their fangs in their multitudes, fearing that daylight is about to invade their wretched night. Damn right.

Unpredictable, you say? Two words: Faustino. Asprilla. Personally think we should get him back to shoot people and potentially deal drugs to opposition players. I'm not a Martins critic, I actually agree that under Keegan we'll see a different player, but the view that his link up play isn't the best has some weight. There's also a case could be made that Defoe could play alongside Martins.
-
Defoe seems exactly the type of player Keegan would like to me. Owen is running down his contract and doesn't rate Keegan. Martins is unpredictable. Defoe would probably fit into Keegan's carpet football philosophy and with the other two mentioned not being cast-iron certs in the future, I could see Keegan going for Defoe.
-
You might have a point. Milner as THE winger lacks pace. But put him in a midfield alongside Duff, Zog, and maybe one holding MF and you might see a different player emerge under Keegan.

Shearer might well turn out to be a decent manager, but there are too many unknowns. Who would form his backroom staff? Does he have too many ties to the old guard? His mates are Fat Fred, Dalglish and Souness. I don't think it will have went down well with the new regime that Alan Oliver was spilling the beans on national tv about the phone call Mort made to Shearer in Barbados either. Shearer is playing the press and using his popularity to force the board's hand. For that reason alone I don't think he'll get offered the job.
-
I doubt Mort or Ashley will have been too impressed by Oliver revealing details of a phone call between Mort and Shearer telling him he wasn't getting the job just yet. It can't have done Shearer's chances any good if it's felt that he's too close to a twat like Oliver.
-
Superb. Absolutely superb. That's all there is to it.
-
Shearer's biggest hurdle (assuming he wants the job) is that it's Ashley's money and Ashley might not feel comfortable about blowing a lot of money on an unknown quantity.
-
Just in case anyone overlooks it. He's spot on about everything else too btw. # Well you got part of it right Dave. Just not the bit you bolded.
-
Like Alan Green is guilty by association with Liverpool and the BBC?
-
Good stuff. Nice to see someone who looks at the bigger picture.
-
Allardyce didn't blame the fans, but his prize signing, Barton, came damn close. I don't recall Sam distancing himself from those comments at the time.
-
Yes, let's shoot the messenger.... what he's said is pretty much spot on even if he is a shitbag.
-
and the decent replacement would be....? Please, no one say Anelka. You might as well say Ronaldhino. I wasn't thinking of a player in that kind of price bracket. I just don't rate Martins that highly. I'd like us to sign a busy, quick player in the Beardsley / Bellamy mould who can make things happen for us. I like the look of Arshavin, as an example. If City were to offer us £8 million plus Vassell, I'd take it. He's not the most skilful, but his technique is better than Martins, he's quick and he puts in a lot of hard, intelligent work for his team. He's underrated and he'd be a good option to have in our position, even if he wouldn't be a long-term first team regular. Isn't Arshavin a midfielder? Interesting idea though. I'd rather have Martins than Vassell myself. We already have Smith to do what Vassell does, i.e., work hard and get no goals.

If Sam asks for Nolan, Mort needs to pull the plug on Sam's transfer budget as of now.
-
I think Sam was probably shocked at how shit Shola was in the air. He must have been creaming himself at the thought of having a 7ft beast to aim the 50 yd punts at before the sight of the ball bouncing off Ameobi's head sideways brought reality thundering home. With the ball at his feet he can be a handful though, not a bad option on the bench.

like I said, ok shitface.
