Full backs with midfielders making themselves available to pass to don't usually make that mistake.
-
i'm sure jonas checks his stride aswell before trying to get the shot in........and not forgetting the ball falling to n'zog 18yds out and he mis controls it when lashing the bastard towards the goal was the sensible option. Funnily enough I thought Jonas and Zog were our most effective midfielders, along with Guthrie despite those "mistakes".

+ Peter Lovenkrands -
Tron - What did you think of the Guthrie/Zog combo? Would have to see it from the kick off to get a real idea, but I would have started with those two tbh. Both lads have got good legs, decent engines and have the potential to dovetail nicely. Over 90mins not sure if Zog has the discipline for the role but there's only one way to find out. Going forward it could be pretty slick.
-
I wanted to see him threaten the goal and he scored, can't ask for more than that. Fair do's, he's took his chance and earned his place in the team.
-
The defence will get the stick, but we conceded the midfield battle for large parts of the game. The defence shouldn't be coming under so much pressure at home, but until we get four midfielders with good engines in the team together we are bound to struggle against quicker players. Previously we've had Butt, today he was replaced by Geremi. One clapped out old fart replaces another and hey presto, it's Jurassic park week again.
-
The boos should be for whichever dickhead keeps playing has been footballers ahead of fast, athletic attackers. Mourinho and SBR decided Geremi had 40yr old legs last year, our managers think different. Who's opinion would you respect?
-
Kinnear is another in a long line of managers who have favoured Duff over Zog, so I don't see why he wouldn't want to look for regular football somewhere else. I can guarantee one thing, Tottenham, or Villa won't be trying to buy Duff instead. Personally I'm not sure he was going anyway, but after today he might.
-
Why does N'Zogbia deserve to get booed while Given gets cheered? Both have had agents/lawyers stirring to get away, and only Given is first choice for his position.
-
Well we might see an extra midfielder running for a start.
-
Geremi and Duff have given up. Joes must make changes.
-
Get Duff off the pitch now.
-
Nope, its now between Duff and Geremi as Jonas is far superior on the left. Geremis is playing central today so if we are going to play a left footer on the right then I would play Zog sooner than Duff, he can cut in and shoot effectively from there.
-
Half time. Second half Duff needs to step up his game to justify playing ahead of the far superior Zog.
-
He's got 45 mins more to show me he has a striker's goal instincts.
-
At least we have Colo and Bassong at the back, I have faith they can handle it if anyone can.

He was a really quick winger in his pomp has had a few knocks so not sure if he still has that pace. Sounds like a 'meh...' signing. -
I don't pay a lot of attention to what Owen says tbh. He'll be going in the summer whatever he says or doesn't say. In the meantime if he scores a few goals for us great.

Rangers can't afford his wages according to the Journal, so there may be some mileage in it. What's he like as a player, I don't really follow scottish football? -
The offer has been put in writing according to that report so I'm pretty certain it's genuine.

Zog and Enrique out...Riise and Ferguson in. Good move, with Nicky Butt and Geremi on our books we need more players who can play at a slower pace -
Crucial. We might be able to put out a half balanced side and get a result if Owen and Carroll can grab us a couple of goals.

Mido's a twat but he's a proper forward who will score goals given the service. Smith is just a human dodgem car, running about in random directions bumping into players and falling down. -
he's been making noises about wanting away for at least 2 years now Maybe if he'd started more games at left wing ahead of Duff it might have been different. In the time Duff's been here, and taking into account injuries etc, (and correct me if I'm wrong) I would be surprised if Duff has played more/many more games than N'Zogbia. I do think that Duff's arrival was a cause of him wanting out though. He was one of our best players in the season prior to Duff signing, and we only strengthened in his position and up front, whilst other positions that needed strengthening were left. He seems to have developed a chip on his shoulder since then. We don't really need Zog as we have Jonas in that position, and if I had some faith in our club to bring in players who are good athletes as well as good players in the positions we need strengthened I would let Zog go for the right fee. As it is, we are probably going to lose one of our few players with pace and power, while Butt signs a new contract and Barry Ferguson wheezes his way up to St James Park. Progress? Not really.
