I'm absolutely not enjoying it. Germany are closing down very effectively, and when they can't, they pull out a well timed foul. Fair play to them though, can't be easy pressing that hard in this heat.

I've been really impressed with how composed they are bringing the ball out under pressure. Canny football team, well worth the lead.

Maybe they are just conserving their energy then, to me they looked pretty one paced, and it took a couple of really good strikes to get the goals. They did step it up in the second half, but still not convinced. De Maria still starting would be a red flag for me, always seems to run around with no end product. I do like their manager though, doesn't seem afraid to make early changes.

They basically just parked the bus. It would have worked as well but for a pretty great strike from Messi. I can see Argentina finding space now and getting a second.

They seem really confused when they are confronted by a defence. I imagine they'd be able to dish out a really good hiding if they were playing against 9 men.

BTW, the football was great to watch, win it or not, great to see Brazil playing like they did back in the glory days.

They weren't even clicking properly, Raphina still looks a bit undercooked, but when they get it right, they look frightening.

Good game this despite the lack of goals. Brazil throwing everything at them but Serbia are really well organised, and look dangerous when they get possession.

Could easily see Serbia winning this, they are playing smart while Brazil are over-complicating it.

Don't really remember the overhead kick, but Mexico will always stick in my mind because one of his team mates pulled his head back by the hair then released it by slapping the back of his head. I don't know if it was that goal, but probably was tbh. It was the most Latino celebration in living memory.
