This is what excites me about him as well. The goals against Liverpool were genuine striker goals, he's not going to be as good as Wilson at holding the ball up necessarily, but there will be games where he can attack the space in behind, especially against the better sides and it looks like he's a very good finisher.

I always wonder about this when fans come up with impressive knowledge about a virulent strain of Islam which is known as Wahabbism. It's a form of fundamentalist religion which has absolutely no future in the modern world, and despite what you say, is already creaking. That's why after centuries women are now allowed to drive in the country. I don't see how SA can avoid moving with modern times no matter how reluctantly. If they really just wanted to keep their population under straitjackets, they would just allow nothing to come in from the outside at all, including football. Why would you invest in a western football club where you will be showing games attended by females and LGBTQ community? -
Yep. I think this applies to other potential signings like Jao Pedro as well. Especially now we've got that Kuol kid as well who looks a bit special. Everton and Villa will be in there for Pedro now you would imagine, they both like to pick up the crumbs from our table.

You know anyone who is appointed must have something about them, simply because Howe himself is such a knowledgable coach he's not going to hire freeloaders like Bruce did. He obviously had some respect for Graeme Jones's abilities otherwise he could easily have let him go.
-
Aye but no one cares really.
-
Can't lie, every time the coaches are mentioned on here, I keep seeing that picture of the Three Steves in the canteen eating a fry up. It's burned in the memory for good now.

He scored two cracking goals against Liverpool, I'm sure we'll find a way.

WTF? Did it not dwell on him that the people behind Wor Flags are massive Newcastle fans and probably love how things have turned out? -
An Argie called Maximo. How could you go wrong?
-
Top 6 fan He'll be supporting us next season and so will the rest of his glory hunting mates.
-
Maybe I don't understand the new rules that well then, but his hand stopped a potentially dangerous cross in the penalty area. Seemed more of an obvious decision than the ruled offside Isak goal which stopped us from beating Liverpool.
-
Might well have been actually.
-
Unbeleivable. His son is almost as cute and loveable as his dad.
-
I don't know which game it was earlier in the season, but he went up against some guy, moved his body in the way and just let him bounce off him before calmly taking the ball forward and passing to our attack players. I was sold back then.

Sunderland only became recognised as a city in 1992, before that I think they had a footbal stadium called Roker Park which is now probably demolished and a badge which didn't look like a shit copy of NUFC's.
-
What is even the point of Sunderland? Is it city? Is it a town? is it a village? Durham as an area I can understand, but where does the stadium of light with it's two lions badge make any sense?
-
Their Geordie twang has fucked them forever unfortunately. If they were full on Yorkshire they might have had some sort of identity.
-
Yeah. I still don't understand the new handball rules after our penalty claim was ruled out. I think even in the old days that would have been given.

I'm feeling like going on a nationwide round trip tbh. Now is the time.

I don't rate West Ham or Moyes that highly, IMO they over-achieved last season so I wouldn't use them as a barometer. It was like the season when we finished 5th under Pardew. If we get CL then we are are there to stay IMO. Just look at the football we are playing already with players who were destined for relegation a year ago. The best thing that ever happened to us was Unai Emery bottling the job offer. Eddie Howe is the best manager we could have wished for.
-
This is spot on. I don't know how he does it, but despite not being the quickest, he seems to be everywhere at once. This wasn't even one of his best games but he was still calling the shots.
-
I thought he was MOTM, there were plenty of worthy candidates, but he dominated that whole left side from front to back.
-
That's what I meant when I was talking about his footwork. It's great to watch, and really effective as well. Your average footballer can't do it.
