The attacking players will be the ones who take us to the next level. Defense is absolutely sorted now, we even have a workable midfield for now. Another striker and RW will make such a difference.

As I suspected the PSG interest has probably been overplayed by the agent once we've pulled back. This deal could still happen IMO once the agent realises that he's played his best hand. No bid from PSG says plenty. Liking is one thing, forking out £30m plus on a teenager is another, especially as they probably couldn't play him in their first team.

Yes I get it, he's injured a lot, but I'm presuming we were buying a striker good enough to start over Wilson, he'd have to be top drawer, and that would put Wilson's future here in doubt. I'm all for buying the best btw, I just don't think we are at that stage yet. It will be a young promising striker who can compete with Wilson but won't necessarily start over him.

It would have to be some striker to start over Wilson mind. Then you would probably end up losing Wilson as well as I don't think he's the type who will be prepared to sit on the bench at his age.

I'm assuming the club is pleading poverty to keep the Newcastle Tax to a minimum, my suspicion is that we should be able to offer better deals than the likes of West Ham or Leicester. Otherwise what's the point of being richer than everyone else? It might take an extra year to overtake those clubs but we should be able to use that money as some leverage.

I think we should be going above two of those tbh, unlike the Big Six, they shouldn't in theory have as much pulling power as us. We should be able to source the type of players who will take us above them.

Those are going to be the game changers as to what sort of season we have. Fraser, Murphy and Almiron are not going to win big games.

It's great to be ambitious, but just because we would like to sign Haaland doesn't mean it would have been realistic. I'm not getting excited at the names being bandied about because it seems there is no realistic chance of them coming here. We are going to have to be a bit more creative to get quality through the door, but buying attacking players of that calibre is not going to be easy.

Some of the names just seem like pie in the sky. Raphina, Osimhen, Diaby....you would have thought we'd have more chance going for someone a bit less proven along the Ekiteke lines. Maybe we have got someone else in mind but journos aren't aware of it.

Again, how would he know? He'd be the last journalist the club would talk to given his opposition to the takeover.

Why didn't he sell him earlier then? He's obviously still a top striker, he's only being let go now because Haaland is world class.

I'm quite excited to see who we move onto after Ekiteke, but one thing that would piss me off is if we are chasing impossible signings. If Harrison or Raphina are realistic targets, then great. But I don't want to spend a month with us playing maybe only to be told no deal at the end of it.

It felt like he was reluctant to come even then. I'm disappointed because I really like what he's about, but tbf if PSG were his dream club, can't really knock him for holding out. I never thought they were serious, but looks like they are.
