  1. So these cunts were a bunch of hyped up aggro cunts trying to hack the shit out of us? These tours to North America can fuck off. Was the same last time, bunch of hyped up dickheads thinking they were playing a cup final.
  2. Can the thread title be fixed pleased? The grammar in it has aids.
  3. He'd surely get a fair amount of playing time there when the likes of Willian, Cuadrado and Oscar are his competition down the right? Not quite as steep as that Argentinian lad ye have.
  4. Just text my one and only Dutch friend to clarify, and he says... "Most in the Netherlands would pronounce it with a V. However, if you were raised in the South the dialect can be quite strange and you will hear people pronouncing it with a Wij, Raey, or Vaey in some locations." So fuck knows.... I like how he's said that some people might pronounce it 'Wij', like the question wasn't "How do you pronounce Wij?" He pronounces it like the English word wry/rye in that video anyway, so I assume he has a fair idea how to say his own name.
  5. Vorsprung durch Technik, as they say in Newcastle.
  6. Be like that then, shortarse.
  7. I'll be excited if we get him. Players of his style are rarely as good as he seems to be at such a young age, he's still going to get stronger and hopefully will get better and better at imposing himself in defenders. Loved watching Carroll batter defenders around the place for us, would be nice to have someone who can do so again... though on the flip side there's nothing shitter to watch than a big, shite donkey leading the line. Hopefully he'll be good.
  8. From the little I've seen/read of him, he seems to have the potential to develop into a physical, classic #9. Large frame, already dominant through the air. He's definitely not the natural goalscorer that Austin is, yet, but Austin has arguably peaked (in the sense that I don't see him developing into the type of striker who can dominate opposing CBs.) Mitrovic is raw but I think there's a very good striker in there. I don't think by definition one can become a natural at something.
  9. I wouldn't be against us having 5 or 6 players who can play in the midfield three and letting them win their starting spots through good form. At the moment we have Abeid, Tiote, Anita, Sissoko, Colback and De Jong. If Sissoko leaves we could do with another option, even if he stays we could do with getting in someone good and moving on one or two of Anita/Colback/Tiote as they're not that good.
  10. Annoying in that the Scotland goal was so jammy, then again ours was offside too We were alright today, didn't really deserve to win though IMO. Scotland probably deserve to go to France instead of us. Hoolahan sub was laughable, just aimless shite after that.
  11. http://www.irishmirror.ie/sport/soccer/soccer-news/paddy-power-mocks-up-roy-5869136 Solid jab at Scotland from Paddy Power.
  12. Perez type signing as in the position he plays? Or just someone who's young, cheap and brilliant? If we do sign Austin and ship out Cisse I'd like to find a backup #9 to work as Austin's understudy/competition. We need someone else who can lead the line in the event that Austin gets run over by Rikishi again.
  13. I'd love Berahino, always thought he was class. Can't see us doing it though, we need defenders too so I can't imagine us spending over 30m on two strikers.
  14. Be lucky if we offer pairs. Just individual socks that got lost and we have no pairing for.
  15. As long as they're not forcing players on a manager then it's a good system IMO. That's exactly what they would be doing by default though if the manager hasn't got the final say. We don't know the setup but what I would see as being ideal is that we don't sign anyone unless both McClaren and Carr are in agreement that he is both good enough to improve the squad and is a good fit for the way the manager wants to play. As long as McClaren and Carr have a good relationship I'd guess they'll work together well.
  16. As long as they're not forcing players on a manager then it's a good system IMO.
  17. If it's who McClaren wants then I don't really have a problem with it, I do think there is some merit to having a local lad on the staff. His last two jobs as manager have been disasters no doubt, but being assistant is far less challenging. Of course the problem is that he'll be made manager if McClaren ever leaves in a cost saving move, but then that's true of almost anyone we could appoint.

    The England Thread

England B team with two English players? You're a bit easily wound up yeah? Anyway, I'm just thankful the away fans haven't started to riot yet. The game itself is secondary.
  20. Friend of mine won a grand, called 1-0 HT and 3-1 FT. If it had been me Neymar would have tried a fancy flick at the end and made a tit of himself.
  21. Jesus, great save. Saw it so late.
  22. Juve have to come and play now. We'll either see an open game of Barca will put on a display. Will be good to watch either way I'd guess.
  23. Just really want to see Messi score a hat-trick with a wonder goal in there so we can witness the absolute pinnacle of his greatness.
