Have the exact same bet for today.

It'll be a close run thing like. The squad, while thin, is easily good enough to get promoted. All depends on whether Hughton has the balls/intelligence to put out the best team each week. If he does, we'll go up no bother.
-
He's been very poor any time I've seen him this year. One or two performances that were alright, but on the whole he's been a massive disappointment. For the ability he has, he should be a real difference maker in the Championship. Not sure what's up with him tbh. I'll tell you waht's up with him. If you must.

Playing him on the left doesn't make any sense, but it doesn't excuse how poor he's been all year. Guy generally just doesn't look bothered, like he thinks he's above playing in the Championship or something. Add in that he's a complete cunt of a human being and I have to say I'm looking forward to the day he fucks off somewhere else.

How much time is left? Bout 25 minutes.

Nice. Now finish them ffs.

Genuinely reckon that the likes of Nolan, Smith and Butt are having a far bigger say in how we line up than any players should. Easiest way to accomodate as many of the "veterans" as we can by sticking 5 in midfield at all times.
-
Pity for Simpson, he's looked solid since joining. This would keep Ryan Taylor away from midfield though, on the plus side.
-
What an absolute buttfisting. Must be gutted.
-
Maybe he's started Lovenkrands up top with Barton and Geremi on the wings? 1 up top at home to Plymouth would be a new low. Radio commentary describing it as one up top. Who is on the right, Barton or Geremi?

Barton - Guthrie - Smith - Jonas

You're like an affected widow or something.

Newcastle United V Plymouth Argyle Pre-Match Thread - 19/09/09- 3pm KO

If we go with one up top at home to the bottom team in the division I may have to kill someone. Smith in for Butt and Ranger in for Nolan please. Jonas on the bench if he's able, though we really shouldn't need him. Reckon Smith will replace Guthrie and we'll keep it the same otherwise though. -
it's not an either/or but wether he plays both. i don't think he will. You don't? 2-1 down today, he brings off Barton and leaves Butt on. Whose more likely to get a goal, or create on, out of those two? Add in the fact that it's Butt's first start this season. Honestly reckon the likes of Butt, Nolan, Smith and Harper have a hand in picking the team. Smith will partner Butt in CM at the weekend, nailed on. who was playing better on the night ? do you know ? tbf barton has been as poor as butt in his time here. No, obviously. But one is a 34 year old "holding midfielder" who had about 20 minutes of football under his belt all season. The other is someone who actually possesses some ability in terms of making something happen in attack, even if he has looked disinterested at times. If you need a goal then I know which one I'm leaving on the pitch.

Sounded pretty shit. Anyway, we've probably taken more points from our previous games than we've deserved to so I guess there can't be many complaints. We've had a loss coming, tbh. Need to get our act together and rebound with a win at the weekend.
-
He's always been very much clueless. We've been getting by on a mixture of luck and generally just having better players than the teams we face.
-
Butt may singlehandedly keep us in the Championship this year. He's actually a hindrance. At least Nolan has the courtesy to fucking disappear from games. Butt meanwhile thinks he's fucking Zidane, looking for the ball at all times only to boot it away aimlessly time and time again. Pathetic that he's still on while Guthrie has been taken off.

Almost an incredible pass by Messi, underhit by inches.
