In terms of a player playing below what they're usually capable of, has to be up there with the worst performances a Newcastle player. Like it would have been a notably bad performance for Matty Pattison Panicked on the ball a lot, got caught in possession multiple times, gave away numerous stupid fouls, fell over a few times and had several really tame shots. Obviously everyone has bad games but it's not nothing that he produced it in such a big game for us. Hopefully it'll be a rare bad day in a great career for us.

I'd really consider going 4-4-1-1 and playing him in the hole and getting it into him as quick as possible. Would also reduce how often we're getting caught in possession in midfield. Would like to see Gordon on for Murphy, Murphy has got into several good positions and his final ball has been dreadful every time. Not sure how much Maxi has in him but hopefully he can get the last 25 or 30 minutes.
