  1. The only stat I care about is on the left column here:
  2. on fm when i made him captain he went sad because it was too much pressure for him
  3. Dortmund had no chance here. Royally screwed before both games.
  4. Had hopes he'd be able to contribute more than he has this season. Believed he deserved a chance after his good start for us, followed by being Pardewed. Probably deserved more of a chance up front at some point this season. Either way, he's done. No great feelings either way.
  5. Fans of other German teams are probably feeling really bad for the poor minnows of Munich right now, for they most certainly haven't experienced the same thing time and time again in the Bundesliga.
  6. Mature. The kid has been taking a load of stick from all angles, thread title tops it off. You're not allowed to have a bad period as a Newcastle player. Smidge of exaggeration, no? When players have bad periods, they get called crap, it's pretty much par for the course. If you play poorly for an extended period of time, people will lose faith, it's inevitable. What exactly do you expect? He's not the only one being criticised right now. Either way, it's not a death sentence. People ended up appreciating Nicky fucking Butt. So I think the "You're not allowed to have a bad period as a Newcastle player" statement is a tad hyperbolic.
  7. OP/some mod changes thread title, WEVE TURNED ON OUR OWN, FOR SHAME.
  8. robot linos on train tracks imo
  9. Aye the last thing I'd have Darlow down as is arrogant. He looks shit scared half the time If he's arrogant off the field, he needs to show a bit of that when he fucking plays.
  10. Looking at his win percentage I reckon there's a reasonable chance he'll be back next year...
  11. Its significantly sexier than porkncheese like
  12. You on the pop today Semmy? The only thing getting me drunk today are the sweet rays from a sunny springtime day. What a life it is.
  13. Fuck missed a goal to wind up you jamokes
  14. What a majestic way to hit 100 goals
  15. Mistakes are part of the magic. They'll all level out. Right? Right??!
  16. bunch of madrid h8rs u lads r
  17. If he really didn't tell them to hit it long vs Ipswich, we've got a team full of complete fucking idiots/bottlers, because they did it for 90 fucking minutes. My guess is it's somewhere in-between though, because the Murphy/Diame combo tells me they're going for hoofbahl.
  18. If we go up its job done, if anyone complains they can fuck off man. one more win, i think I mean, I'll still complain, but it'll be job done. We have met our minimum expectations of the season. Certainly not a failure. Not quite a rip-roaring success either.
  19. Such bitterness over a nothing football club.
  20. If Mitro contributed to winning matches to compensate for his criminal lack of a goalscorer's instinct, he'd not get anywhere near as much stick. The fact is he doesn't, and Murphy's goals have won us matches. Strikers should be judged on goals scored, first and foremost. Murphy is just better at scoring than Mitrovic as the stats will show. How many assists has Mitro gotten whilst not scoring? You've argued against you own point here. The stats are remarkably similar considering one player gets thrown under the bus and the other doesn't. In the league: Mitro - 4 goals, 4 assists Murphy - 5 goals, 1 assist If you include the cup games, they both have 6 goals but Mitro has 3 more assists still. Mitro also has a higher pass % (65.1% to 53.1%) Mitro has played 300 more minutes like but his minutes have been in much smaller segments (ie, coming on late in a lot of games) and therefore reducing the ability to make an impact. Also for the myth that Murphy has "won us more matches/points etc." No, he really hasn't. Even ignoring the assists and just basing it on the goals, it's very close run. Mitro: 4 goals, 4 assist: worth 13 points Leeds (h) - assist - 1 point Wolves (a) - goal - 3 points Preston (a) - 2 goals - 3 points QPR (a) - assist and goal - contributed to the points but didn't win them solely Cardiff (h) - assist - 3 points Derby (h) - assist - 3 points Murphy: 5 goals, 1 assist: worth 6 points, 12 even if you claim the Huddersfield/Rotherham as matchwinners. Ipswich (a) - goal - earned us nothing Fulham (h) - goal - earned us nothing Huddersfield (a) - goal - contributed to the points but didn't win them solely Brighton (a) - gets an assist for Diame's freak goal - 3 points Rotherham (h) - goal - contributed to the points but didn't win them solely Brentford (a) - goal - 3 points You need to find a girlfriend. This is some classic 2002 Internetting boys and girls
  21. Aye. Two comfortable 2-0 defeats. Just what the doctor ordered.
  22. Has anyone really been pushing that it's been a "failure"? I'm underwhelmed, but I don't think it's been a failure..... yet.
  23. Guessing we might get some money for Saivet since he's been playing regularly this season. Riviere we'd probably have to pay to get rid, 2 league goals in 3 seasons. We could try playing some of these players we've bought. Actually give them a chance? Especially ones that have done well out on loan. I always find that's a useful way to find out whether they're any good. (obviously this is in reference to Saivet, not Riviere)
  24. Ipswich did alright by crossing it into the box when they were winning yesterday.
