Honestly, whilst we can all see the inevitable fringe job that Scott Sinclair will have at Man City, I'd do the exact same thing. It's big money, after a good season with a small team who potentially have a limited shelf life in the league. He's going to have an opportunity to fight to play for the champions, and play in the champions league. If it goes tits up, then he'll have the opportunity to loan back out elsewhere (and probably still somewhere better than Swansea). Or he can pull an Adebayor, goto a smaller team, but continue to get paid by City. It's the system that's fucked, I don't blame the player.

I rate Jonas, his versatility and engine are a massive boon but as a winger Adam Johnson is on another level. And in the role that NUFC use Jonas for?

If Johnson was in the side it'd have to be over Cisse/Ba/HBA. He's a good player, but we don't need him.

I imagine Fletcher will marginally outscore him, mainly due to time on the pitch & Sunderland having no option other than to play him (lack of competition + that fee means he's starting every game).

All of these are better options than 14/15m on Fletcher. Whether its because they're better players going for similar fees, or whether they're similar players going for much lower fees. I am no mind reader, I cannot tell whether these people would or would not have gone to Sunderland, but it's not like they've tried. They've MONned it up and gone for the most expensive British player who would sign for them.
