  1. I agree with most of that but cba to type it myself. Disagreement parts: 1) never thought the owners of NUFC had ambitions for 4th, they want as high as they can get in the PL at the right price. I'm hoping the ambition is not buy for 5m-8m, sell for 14m-20m until the end of time. I'm hoping we move that to bigger numbers + thus better players, and thus better finishes. But I reckon it'll need consecutive years of solid finishes, and a lot of luck. 2) I believe Tottenham have got a lot worse. Though by the looks of it that could all change by the end of the day. Also I don't think that QPR are relevant to us at all. They've got a lot of players, plenty who will inevitably get in a huff when they're not first team. They've got an angry manager, who will see them to 12th/13th place. Everton is the only side I really fear making our lives difficult, as well as the potential of a bindipper resurgence. Otherwise, I'm with you. Just a bit despondent. Was expecting minimal moves, but I think with 1 more decent sized signing (Debuchy) & a couple of backups, all would be a lot rosier
  2. The amount of deals Spurs have where the clubs agree fees only for the transfer to break down later seems rather high. Lots of stuff about Levy moving the goalposts when the deal is near completion. I don't like it.
  3. They'll put out kids. This is perfect. Until their bairns knock 5 past our first team.
  4. That'd be canny tbh. All Chelsea need to do then is loan out Torres and they can go into the season with 0 strikers.
  5. Only just seen the groups. That Madrid/City/Dortmund/Ajax is pure fucking taste. Would've been nice if City were replaced by a historical club like the other 3, but maybe it'll be nice to see them pitted against some of the worlds biggest teams. Historically at least. Though it'll be a little depressing when they tear through Ajax Amsterdam & make sure we all know that money = wins.
  6. He's never played at the top level... He scored against Australia for scotland in a friendly. Is that better or worse than League One?
  7. I wish I could agree, but he'll never work in England. He's a great player though. Spurs have fucked him up big time (though I'd hazard a guess that he doesn't leave due to the dinero).

  11. James Collins. 10m and can't register him till January. Something like that.
  12. Why change, it's worked perfectly in the past. Charles N'Zogbia. Ps, he'd be mint in a 4-3-3 like.
  13. I could not care less whether a scouse would get satisfaction out of that. We were teams of comparable ability, shit when well for them and awful for us... whether that is satisfying for Liverpool fans is massively irrelevant. And it's not like it's a matter of opinion, they won the CL. F A C T. FACT. FACT FACT FACT. That brings me to a football pet hate: NUFC fans frequently stating that X behaviour makes us a 'laughing stock' to other fans. Who cares?
  14. If it is strongly linked to this forum among Newcastle forums (fora?) then I wonder if age is a factor. I think there are a fair few on here who grew up, like me, in the age of Liverpool dominance (and, not entirely coincidentally, the backpass). I hated (and still hate) Liverpool because they were the glory-hunters' club of choice when I was a kid. Not fussed about Man U, because at least they stopped Liverpool and Arsenal from winning everything (well we certainly weren't going to). Either way, I've never really had anything against fans of one particular club because we've all got our fair share of twats. I just hate certain clubs, because I am a footy supporter and thus a bit of a child. I've certainly met an awful lot of self-righteous Liverpool fans (plastic ones too), but, clearly wacko is ace. I'm younger than that period and I still fucking hate them. Main reasons for me is that when I was young we were very competitive with Liverpool and they won those two fucking 4-3s, and everything went tits up for us with fucking dalglish, their cunt messiah. When things went shit again after bobby, we had their fucking sourness, and they won the champions league FFS. Whilst I was in the north west, dancing around a scouse filled bar at half time. It just seems that at every important point of Newcastle football in the last 15 years, we've fucked it all up and they've danced their way out of it smelling like fucking roses. Oh, and their entitlement. That's a pain in the arse too. Hate list : Liverpool Sunderland Man Utd Spurs Rest
