I wolud imagine if he came back in Sam's backroom staff he would retain the player/coach role he currently has at Bolton.

My personal opinion is Taylor should be made club captain. Firstly he is one of our better players and secondly he is a Geordie. Now before I get my tin hat out I use the Geordie reason as he is Geordie and seems to give 100% committment in every game, and for that reason the vast majority of fans will let him off when it comes to criticism and I think as has been shown with Parker this season the role and criticism that comes with it, if your name isn't Alan Shearer, is too big for anybody who isn't extremely popular within the club. For me unless Speed returns it has to go to Taylor as no other player we currently have is able to perform to the level needed and can take the criticism.

That would be typical of us, getting the players in before a manager.

Looks like I'll be coming home from sixth form for lunch then. Is it gonna be on SSN?

Whelan confirms Hutchings as new manager.
-
Chris Hutchins new Wigan manager apparently.

Times and Guardian both reporting this mroning he will be Big Sam's first signing.

Can fuck off. No player is bigger than the club.

Hopefully coming to us. *fingers crossed*

Said on Goals on Sunday this morning he was having a medical at Chelsea today.

Aye. What a let down he was. Only 17 goals - in his first ever season in the Premiership, in a shit team under a shit manager - effectively saving us from relegation. Infact, i believe that Oba is the sole reason for why we have had such a shit season. Also - it was the signing of Oba that meant that we haven't won the Premier League this season, and the season of 95/96 aswell. He's just so, so, shit. What an unbelievable disappointment the guy has been. Even the biggest Oba supporter can't deny that in the last 10 games or so he's been a passenger.

Been to SJP 4 times this season and been to one away game. However when I have a car next season I intend to go up at least 8-10 times.
-
Haven't seen the match yet so I won't comment. However I'm pretty sure today was Pearson sending a message to some of the palyers he thinks let Roeder down, the likes of Zog, Martins, Bramble, Moore.
-
Not particularly bothered. I'm sure he would be good for us next year but at the same time the £9m would go an awful long way in stengthening the rest of our squad.

My agent wll be wanting a bung as well.

At the end of the day all I care about is what I see on the pitch and the results. If they are both satisfying I don't care what's going on behind the scenes. So you'd effectively cheat and break the law to win a game of football? Sad man imo. If you think all the other clubs are 100% legit then you are very naive. I'd wager that atleast 15 out of the 20 Premiership clubs have done atleast one dodgy deal in the past 5 years. All but 4 (IIRC) got cleared in that reports didn't they? Of taking bungs yes, however that only went 2 years back. Also by dodgy deal I meant things like secret meetings with players under contract and illegal contact through agents as well as bungs. You are just speculating now to try and win an argument, i could make up stuff too but it would be pointless tbh. I think it was shown perfectly on the BBC thing with Porritt. Tapped up by 3 clubs and Middlesbrough didn't do a thing. Ashley Cole the other year as well. I think it is pretty obviousd it goes on. 15 out of 20 clubs though? That's 2 incidents you can call out, it goes on, but when money is involved that takes it too another level, and i as a football fan nevermind a NUFC fan would never want my club to do business that way. Its ridiculous to say otherwise. In an ideal world I wouldn't want my club to do business that way but at the end of the day that is the road football has gone down and unless you kick agents out of the game it's not going to change.

As West Ham showed you can get away with virtually anything these days and not have pionts taken away. Ok then, win games, get results and be fined £5.5m. I'd be fine with that. £5.5 million is nothing in todays game, maybe one decent player. No pride have you? If I wasn't a Newcastle fan I would rather support a winning team who lack any morals like Chelsea than a team like Wigan who would never do anything wrong but will always be a mid-table club. I've been thinking int his thread that you support the wrong team tbh, but didn't want to level that you as i thought it was a bit harsh, but i certainly think you'd be better off elsewhere, manu or Chelsea perhaps? To be honest we aren't exactly whiter than white are we. You only have to look at that VAT case the other month to see we are paying obscene amounts to agents time after time.
