What was the reason for bringing in seating only stadiums? 90% is also about right, not 90% people want to stand but 90% back giving fans the option to stand, which is more than fair enough.

Bit unfair on people already in L4, if i currently sat there id gladly tell anyone trying to ask me to move to kindly f**k off. Then they can't complain if people sing and stand then. And tbf i've been moved twice in 3 seasons now So basically, because your getting moved you want people in L4 to move just to accommodate you lot from L7 It's shit, isn't it? There's very little choice, and when an area has been specified due to being the one with the lowest amount of ST holders then you can't blame fans for wanting to try this. It's not what we want and everyone's gutted about leaving level 7, but still, anyone who doesn't want to stand in Level 4 has another 45 thousand or so other seats available to them...

Nothing has ever happened to any club in regards to standing, not a single punishment other than ones incurred by clubs themselves. At most certain away followings have been subject tio having their allocations cut, but thats as far as it goes. I'm tempted to go for Level 4 but I'm keen on moving to the Gallowgate if there's a few standing. Would be great to see thousands stood in the Gallowgate.

Very little. Cup matches, newly promoted teams, then the likes of Man United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Sunderland, Man City, Chelsea and a few others would probably sell out the away end. Most teams struggle to bring 2k.

It's not just about atmosphere though. For me the best thing about the Leazes Corner is the freedom to stand during the match without any hassle from fellow fans or stewards. As things stand there's no other part of the ground that caters for this need, unless you end up on a back row there's no chance of being able to stand. Sitting down on a plastic seat with no legroom for 90 minutes is fucking shit in my opinion, it's not how football should be enjoyed and there's no chance I'd fork out hundreds of quid for a ST if that's the case.

The kids bracket being 18 and under has been in place a while now, atleast at the start of last season. Cutting the LC in half is an awful idea, I think having a 'family' section nexto a 'singing' section is possibly the worst idea ever. This is an obvious attempt to cut down on the number of people standing, fucking bastards. If the Atmosphere is shit I'm not going to re-new, it's just boring as fuck otherwise.

So ironic that it hurts.

"Following the Hillsborough disaster it was right to take action against the old-style standing terraces. But modern developments mean that, as other countries have shown, it is perfectly possible to introduce safe standing into the stadia of Premiership and Championship Clubs - if the clubs want to and when stringent safety standards are met." Hillsborough has nothing to do with safe standing. Hillsborough was due to old style terraces which were in poor condition and very badly managed. They're worlds apart. http://www.bathlibdems.org.uk/news/000380/don_foster_mp_for_bath_introduces_the_safe_standing_bill.html

It wouldn't exactly cost fortunes to do but yeah it'd be going out the clubs pocket, but it's providing something an overwheling majority want, and it'd allow new stadiums to impliment standing sections. There's also various models of safe standing, I'm pretty sure most stadiums would have areas which would convert to atleast one safe standing method. As far as I'm concerned there's not 1 good arguement against safe standing, not one. If the Germans can have it, if music fans can have it, and lastly if teams in lower leagues as well as rugby fans can have terraces (?!) then what the f*** is stopping us?

The Bill was actually launched this week - http://www.fsf.org.uk/news/Safe-Standing-Bill-launched-in-Parliament.php

Really hope so. I wish I had the dosh to let my voice be heard. In an ideal world the game is a sell out, Hughton's name rings around the park, then the subsequent matches have very poor attendances until something changes (this coming from someone who against boycotting - enough is enough). I'm pretty sure it will, probably on the scale we saw against Sunderland when the whole stadium was singing his name. Looking forward to the game now.
-
Chants for Hughton will be the loudest against the scousers I reckon.

Thought the ground looked a bit better today thanks to the snow. http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/1350/roofx.png

Not impossible actually, it is actually a Lib Dem policy and is being pushed through by an MP (click). I actually spoke to said MP about 2 weeks ago on the matter, and he says he doesn't see a reason why it won't be implimented and he's trying his best. You've also got the FSF backing the standing movement. The arguement is growing and is obviously wanted by the vast majority. In my opinion we'll see it come eventually...

All seater stadia have killed off the home atmosphere at almost any ground you visit in the Premier League. Stokes aren't even that impressive, it's just so many sets of home fans are so fucking shit it makes them look amazing. It's the same story everywhere, fans will be up for the bigger games.
-
It will be a very long time until we see the atmosphere at SJP as good as it was against Sunderland. Until the FA pulls its finger out and gives the fans what they want (safe standing areas) the atmosphere will continue to be boring and shite. Doesn't help when almost nobody can sell out their away allocation either.
-
It's his song, he hasn't had a bad game since we started to sing it. Anyone else see him give a thumbs up to the away end during the game at West Ham when our lot were singing Oh Coloccini?
-
Whole of the Leazes stood up for stand up if you love the toon. http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/4931/dsc02371xo.th.jpg

Usual atmosphere in the LC is about as good/better than our away following from what I can tell.
-
I'm fine up in Leazes L7 like, but at half time it's a piss take trying to get on the net.
-
It looks fucking shit like. First thing you see when you've finished the treck up to Level 7 is the sight of Sports Direct written all over the Gallowgate roof. The mackems will give us dogs abuse for it I reckon. Might as well add the snap I got of it: http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/2815/sports.png

Nah, fuck that, is football really just about money to you? Hope those Sky cunts get everything coming to them. Their money has effectively helped to ruin the English game unless you enjoy wanking over the top 4, shit atmospheres and overplayed arsehole players.
-
It's a shit song but you'll find most teams in England sing it. To add to that it's pretty funny that you claim people in L7 are 'holier than thou' and then instantly have a dig at them, seems a tad hypocritical but maybe that's just me. But they don't though, and I've made this point on here a few times now. Feel free to prove me wrong, but I've never once read anything on here where someone's claimed they're 'better' because they sit in L7. Just because they say it's better for atmosphere or prefer it to other parts of the ground doesn't somehow mean they think they're better than others for sitting there. People like yourself seem to find it hard to grasp, but some of us think being sat in the East stand for 90 minutes is utter shite. Spending the game sat in silence like a sardine in those tightly packed plastic seats just isn't for me. It obviously suits you down to the ground and that's fine for you, but some of us enjoy a sing song and being able to stand

Doubt it. If you're a member or know a ST holder you'll probably be able to buy tickets from the BO tomorrow though. Will imagine it'll be busy there tomorrow mind.
