I'm taken aback by this. Regardless of whether it's true or not, a club shouldn't be allowing one player to criticise another in the official match programme.
If the team and the manager are supportive of Lascelles with this, then Shelvey is finished here.
This kind of thing is said all of the time, i haven't watched it in years but it used to be on soccer am every week, pretty sure match day programmes up and down the country feature similar 'banter' interviews like that.
The reason it's been raised is because it's lascelles that has said it, and shelvey has just been dropped. It's insensitive in that sense, but other than that, it's just another pretty pointless player interview. I wouldn't read too much into it, personally.
