I'm not anti-Carr, if Rafa tells him to go an find a player for a certain position and he does that then fine, if he's going out and buying players without the managers knowledge then I'm against it.

They could have had one channel for relegation and the championship and switched between games.

It will be interesting to see the viewing figures afterwards, I expect our game would attract a much bigger TV audience.

I didn't get a lift, we parked at Seaham and walked past the Fullwell and they were bricking us. We could hear Newcastle chants and thought that it was Gillingham fans taking the piss until we walked around the corner and saw the queues to get into the paddock. We also had quite a few in the Roker with the Gillingham fans.

I'm quite happy to be in our position after watching Brighton over the last few weeks, they look to have either given up after gaining promotion or are running on empty. My only worry is that Villa might also be on the beach but I'm hoping some of the Villa players are looking to stay in the team for next season and think they have something to play for.

The only game I've ever been to when the mackems have been playing and we weren't.

It's almost a new experience talking about building for the future rather than just looking at the present. We've got one of the best chances during my lifetime of building a proper system at the club, it would be criminal if we didn't do that and I think we will. No more scouts buying players and the manager trying to fit them in, no more having reserve teams for what only looked like having them because we had to and others had them.

I'd rather we spent our money on fewer good players than more average players and I expect that Rafa will do that as he knows he can build on that later. Stabilise us this season and then kick on from that. We've got a manager who is capable of putting proper foundations in place and we have to take advantage of that. I hope to see him working on the kids and getting that setup right so we can bring players through the ranks.

Things change, he'll not have wanted to upset the mackems at that time.

Going off the championship team of the season, theres nothing that thrilling. Cairney and Sessegnon both look good at Fulham and Tammy Abraham has had a good season at Bristol. Whether Chelsea would be willing to sell Abraham is unknown and it looks like Liverpool are interested in Sessegnon. Fulham would be mad to sell players if they are promoted as they will make more money if they keep them and stay up.

I think we need 2 premiership capable defenders one for central defence and one to replace Dummett. 2 premiership capable midfielders for the centre of midfield and a left winger in the mould of Ritchie who will help out in defence and get goals. We also need a premiership capable goal scorer, get those places filled and we'll not struggle. I can easily see as many as 10 players leaving so we'll need to bring in some players to fill squad places, hopefully we'll bring in younger players with potential to develop.

That's probably a plus for them, they can get rid of some of the shite that has them in this position. The real problem for them is that they still have shite players on contract and they're stuck with them if they can't find a buyer or a club to loan them to.

The worry is we don't know if Gayle will do it in premier league so a starting striker is a must Gayle also misses too many games, we need another goal scorer.

I can't see Brighton beating Villa. I'm expecting the Villa players will want to sign the season off with a good performance and I think Brighton have looked shot for the last 2 games and I'm not sure they can raise to the occasion.

Villa have only lost 3 at home all season.
