He's got a better goal/assist rate than the bloke keeping him out of the position I prefer to see him in, on our right side of attack.

He shouldn't be dropped but I would have taken him off yesterday before Gouffran off.
  3. Our football rarely does anything for me, I might as well not waste my time going and look out for the result. I asked my wife to cancel my ticket when Kinnear was appointed and she didn't and I was glad about that as I still enjoy going to the match, I just don't enjoy the game itself. I might see if I can get my youngest to take my ticket off me next season and see if I change my mind or not. I don't really want to give my 10 year deal up if I'm going to find I still want to go.

I will be delighted to see them go down as they would us, the difference between us is that we'd rather see us win something than see them relegated.

He's scored or had an assist better than one in every 3 games for us in the league, 23. Considering how many times he's come off the bench I think that's fairly good. He's only started 43 league games for us so quite a few of his 61 appearances in the league are bit parts towards the end of the game.

In other words, a typical mackem.

    Papiss Cissé

I'm not sure how Ben Arfa offers less than Shola, Cisse at the minute seems shot of confidence and probably needs some games in the reserves.
  8. Spurs were virtually a one man team last season and have lost him, they're a point better off (27) than they were after 16 games last season when they had Bale and 26 points.
  9. They are 2 places down on where they finished last season, Swansea are down 1 place. They also both invested in their squads adequately So the Europa League doesn't strike again?

  11. Taylor going to the mackems would be an epic slap in the face for the supporters. Bring it on.

    Your starting 11

Our last away game suggests otherwise.

I've just read the first page and somebody goes on about 1992, in 1992 we had an average crowd of 21,148, they had an average crowd of 18,390. The irony will not register with them as they're as thick as pig shit.

Point 2, I'm surprised we have so many plastic fans who never go to games yet we have higher gates than they do, am I missing something?
  15. Think I started a thread on here about that years ago. Boils my p*ss. It does my head in, if we clear the ball it's coming straight back at us. It's the same when we're defending a free kick in our own half and I just hope the ball goes out so we can get players into the opposition half.

He pissed me off a couple of times yesterday when he was inviting the opposition player to come and have a go at him when he could have done something a lot simpler and more effective. I would still rather have him playing than our statue with a goals record of 9 in his last 88 Premiership appearances.

It's a pity we didn't have these at home towards the end of March onwards.

    Papiss Cissé

I think Cisse would be a much better player if he was running onto a ball towards the opposition goal rather than trying to pluck balls out of the air or trying to play through the opposition. He's got pace yet we don't try to make use of it often enough. I don't know what's wrong with him but you can't go from being the player we signed to the player we currently see for no reason. His first half of a season was too good for him to be a shit player, shit players can't and don't do what he did for half a season. They can have good games but they don't do it for as long as he did.
  19. I'm not sure I agree with you, he has a way of playing and he more often than not sticks to it. He found a good winning style towards the end of the season when we finished 5th and he dropped it. He found a winning style in our last away game and in the very next game he abandoned it. He's a limited manager who likes what he knows and that's costing us because our players are better than the limited way he seems to want us to play. We're doing much better than last season but I don't think we'll ever reach our potential with Pardew at the club and we're unlikely to show any ambition and change him while Ashley is at the club, unless we have another season like last.

He came on when we were no longer in front and he had 25 minutes of the game to play. I don't think he would have played the same way from the start and if he did the same thing 7.8 times it would have probably been more times than Shola actually touched the ball.
  21. I was massively wrong about where it happened.
  22. They also hit the woodwork unless that's the chance you're on about, according to the BBC they had 60% possession. If they have 60% possession that's 60% of the game that we could do nothing with the ball.
  23. Piss-taking aside, the keeper has a go at Sissoko who goes to push the keepers hand away and accidently catches the ref, it looked a complete accident at the time and still does.

I don't remember HBA ever controlling Krul's "direct" passes. Not gonna happen, bruv. He actually won a couple of headers today, I can't remember where the balls came from but he did win them.
