Using Europe as a reason for our poor performances is cowardly by Pardew. 5 of the top 6 teams in the league were playing in Europe and the teams playing in the CL don't have the opportunity of playing a 2nd team every game. Europe has little bearing on our performances. We've played nearly 100 games in Europe and usually played our strongest team and we've rarely been as poor as we are now. I'm getting sick of hearing excuses which are based on something Pardew dreams up, it's as if he's reading them off a list.

How could a player do well when giving the ball away as often as Obertan did?

That's what I thought, still, I knew Simpson would get the blame for it. Having said that, he didn't have a very good game and can have no complaints about coming off based on his overall performance.

He was terrible and kept giving the ball away, he did some things well which were outnumbered by what he did shit.

Too often today we were attacking with 9 outfield players behind the ball, it's shit watching insipid shit like we're dishing up. Christ, thinking that we've got this bloke at the club for the next years doesn't really fill me with much hope for the future.
