All well and good if Perch, Obertan, Taylor and Best weren't getting the games and Ben Arfa was.

Best's aerial ability means that we lose possession far too easily, it's laughable that Pardew keeps going on about what we don't get from Ben Arfa while completely missing what we don't get from Best. All we've been getting from Best recently is a player who will run around up front without actually doing very much. He'll chase the defender or keeper down without actually getting the ball or forcing any of the opposition players into a mistake. They just let him run at them and make a simple pass to a team mate which completely takes Best out of the game. I don't see anything safe about playing an ineffective Best, now I've said that he'll play the game of his life.

Pardew is backing himself into a corner as he buckles as soon as the fans start chanting for Ben Arfa, if he doesn't start tonight the fans will be on Pardew's back again.

It's going to be interesting seeing what Obertan does when he's up against him.

Fibre optics would have made it possible, finding a Polar Bear under snow in total darkness would have made it virtually impossible.

I'm no fan of the BBC but I do remember watching the Polar Bear and said at the time that they hadn't filmed that in the wild as it would have been virtually impossible due to the Bear giving birth in 24 hour darkness.

I've seen Sammy loads of times after reserve and kids games and he's always been surrounded by people talking to him, getting autographs and photo's. On Christmas Eve he refused a photograph because he didn't have time, it's no big deal.

One poster said Sammy behaved like a Diva, whatever that means, he also said that Sammy said he didn't have time which is understandable.

Footballers like everyone else have a right to privacy, as fans we pay money to watch them play. We don't own them and other than playing football, they owe us nothing. It must be shit not being able to walk around without having people stopping them all of the time.

Seems Ben Arfa himself is of the opinion that he's still not match fit and has benefited from Pardew taking it slowly with his return. If HBA goes on a run over the next few weeks/months and becomes a key player for the team, will people on here give Pardew the credit for doing the right thing by the player and the club's longer-term best interests? Or will they still cling onto the opinion that the points dropped against Norwich, West Brom and Swansea would have been radically different if HBA had been pushed back into the first team before he was 100%? Where does Ben Arfa say that he "has benefited from Pardew taking it slowly with his return"?
