This article mentions it and also mentions Arsenal and Liverpool. http://www.arabianbusiness.com/529670-abu-dhabi-chiefs-set-to-meet-premier-league Abu Dhabi chiefs set to meet Premier League Tuesday, 02 September 2008 New Man City owner Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim expects formalities of takeover to be completed soon. Manchester City's owner-in-waiting Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim expects his Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG) to be given the green light for their takeover of the Premier League club imminently. Al Fahim has agreed to acquire a majority stake in City, subject to due diligence, from former Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who will remain on the club's board as a shareholder and honorary president. He confirmed that ADUG had also considered investing in Arsenal, Newcastle and Liverpool before pressing ahead with the City buy-out. The new team has already made an impression in the transfer market by beating Chelsea to the signature of Brazilian forward Robinho from Real Madrid for a British record transfer fee of about $61.6 million. Regarding the takeover, Al Fahim added: "It is really about formalities. It is more about securing approval from the authorities in England, such as the Premier League. "I don't foresee any problems with the club itself. I need to check my diary and come over to England as soon as possible so I can meet people from the Premier League. "We were attracted to the Premier League itself, and Arsenal, Newcastle and Liverpool were also possibilities. "We are very happy to become the new owners of Manchester City, one of the oldest clubs in England." The Premier League has to give the takeover the go-ahead and will carry out their standard fit and proper persons test of Al Fahim, a billionaire property developer. Al Fahim will focus his efforts on putting together a new board at Eastlands, and he suggested that a former player, who enjoys a good rapport with the fans, could be appointed. "We need to bring in several top board members over the next three or four months, and they will be able to help," he said. "Thaksin Shinawatra will be a board member, and will still be a shareholder of the club. "We also would like to bring in people who have a good knowledge of the English market, and maybe someone who the fans will appreciate. We have to be careful to bring in the right people." Al Fahim said that he was unable to publicly reveal financial details of the takeover or the stake Shinawatra would retain in the club, but a statement released on Monday on behalf of ADUG said that the Thai would be "without any administrative responsibilities".

One of the Arabs mentioned it during a press conference and it was covered on here at the time, how much they offered wasn't mentioned as far as I'm aware.
-
How much was he trying to sell the club for? If he wanted to sell before the protests, why did he not sell to the people who bought Man City after Ashley said the club wasn't for sale?

Why did you post your pm to 2J in here?

It's not 25%, it's 15% and that percentage can be cut due to segregation. http://www.thefa.com/NR/rdonlyres/88E4F314-784F-492D-A2C8-B531A99B5732/147348/FACupRules.PDF 21. I'll stand by what I've said and now that we are picking the right players when fit we've got a better defence than we've had for years.
-
It's strange that for seasons our defence has been a major weakness and that's no longer the case because of the last transfer window.
-
Good post, I think you'll find that people aren't too keen on the banner because it doesn't go into the detail that you do in the post. I applauded the banner the first time you brought it out but after thinking about it I've changed my mind because it makes us look like small minded idiots.

It would be a brilliant day out if we played on the Saturday and had Mackems v Blyth to follow.
-
If the Blyth v Blackburn game is a result without a replay then they'll not have long to wait for an outcome.
-
I would think a non-league club away to a local premiership side might pip Cardiff v Arsenal, obviously Blackburn will have a say in the matter.
-
I would expect any of those could be moved for TV, all of them have that potential.
-
I really hope Blyth win more than ever now, I'd love them to put the bastards out after drawing at the SOS and playing them at Newcastle.
-
us v milwall or Crewe

I wonder if he gets bannered from games.

Thanks, that's much better with my eyes.

We did OK against Stoke without Butt until Kinnear changed the team around because of having to make 1 change.
