  1. The only players we've let go this summer are either shite or injury prone, we're no weaker for that loss.
  2. You're wrong, delete your post and I'll delete my reply, we already have one person in this thread looking daft.
  3. The fact that he's been a one club player will have cost him money, having said that, no pemiership footballer needs one.
  4. I don't think any other club in this country has had a better pair of keepers than we've had while those two have been together at the club. Edit. I meant for as long as we've had those two, not in short spells.
  5. I wouldn't call Harper a legend either but I'm glad we've had him because I think we'd have struggled to get another keeper as good as him to sit around for so long. I think he's deserved better and has been dropped far too soon once Given has become fit after injury. If he does lack ambition then he makes up for it with his motivation because he rarely lets us down when called upon.
  6. He didn't slip because of where the ball was coming from, he slipped because his studs didn't hold him steady.
  7. I don't remember it, not that I'm saying that it didn't happen.
  8. I can remember one when he slipped and that could happen to any player at any time, other than that I'm struggling to remember any that I would call a howler.
  9. I expect it from the press but not some of our so called supporters.
  10. I remember that howler when Harper dropped the ball down and Dublin came from nowhere to score, Shay would never have done anything like that.
  11. Not suggesting in the slightest that we have, but to be so glib about it is pretty ignorant. I'd guess this part of article 17 stopped any chance of him going to Portsmouth after he broke his contract. I guess Gutierrez will have to pay half the compensation to Mallorca and half to Velez. It will probably drag on like N'Zogbia's transfer, but shouldn't affect us directly. Can you come up with any major difference between this possible transfer and the one that this ruling was based on? Obviously this one involves a different player moving from a different country, other than that, what’s the difference?
  12. James, the day I need you to teach me the meaning of a word will be the day I give up breathing. You seem to have latched onto the Webster ruling to try and make yourself look clever but you’ve failed miserably The player is entitled to cancel his contract because he signed his contract before he was 28 and because it's more than 3 years since he signed it. The player himself has to compensate his former club, the identity of the club or clubs who receive that compensation makes no difference to us as we don't pay it.
  13. So how is "This transfer is very murky?" His previous contracts will have nothing to do with the one we offer him.
  14. I'm not even sure what he's getting at or really care for that matter. As has just been said above, I'm sure we'll have looked at the legal side of this and as long as we're happy that we're acting within rules then so be it.
  15. Agreed and I'll trust them until they give reason not to, so far they've done nothing wrong for anybody to not trust them.
  16. Yes Salako was before Ginola and I agree about Keegan keeping the failed medical quiet, we had nothing to gain by telling everybody other than saving face by making it known that he wanted to sign for us. I had forgotten about that, it just shows what a top person we have managing the club.
  17. Buying your first choice doesn't always work out, I was over the moon when we failed to sign John Salako.
