Ashley has probably leaked this to the press to raise the clubs profile in America to attract a buyer.

I'm not too sure that many people think he's not in it for the money just because we don't all see this or these stories that are coming out this week as being true. I don't doubt for one minute that he'd sell the club for a random price of £420 million to a random company in America, what I doubt is that he contacted them and named that price. We've seen an offer of £320 million being mentioned, I think he'd probably sell the club for that if he was after a quick profit and he'd be mad not to take the money and run. As for him pretending to care for the club, he might actually care about the club for all we know, he certainly looks as if he does.

Acuna was a good player for us and he could defend as well as attack from midfield, I also thought that he was better than Speed and couldn't understand why he didn't get more games. Bobby had a thing about both Nobby and Acuna which I couldn't understand as it wasn't for the good of the team. I’d be more than happy to have a player like Acuna in our midfield next season. As for Gavilan, he played and scored against Coventry then got dropped for the next game. Cordone started off well and looked like he was going to do good things for us but he went off the boil after the first few games.

We get offers for the club from different people and it's roughly once a week that this happens. As for why the company would lie, no idea but I'm sure the publicity they'll be getting will do them no harm.

You don't pick people at random if you have something to sell, think about how you've gone about selling something. I doubt very much that you picked up the phone and just dialled anybody in the hope that they were after whatever you were trying to sell.

The thought of us ringing random companies trying to sell the club is laughable. I wonder if it was a case of just hitting numbers on the phone until is started to ring?
