  1. I don't blame Keegan for Woodgate going to Spurs no, do you?
  2. Pasting? My fingers are killing. It's from a book by a former vice-chairman of the football club and it's a canny read for around £10.
  3. According to Keegan we had money to spend in January, unless you know better.
  4. The same place as this, to do with a Board meeting at St James' when George Forbes, Peter Mallinger, Derek McVickers and Freddy Shepherd all agreed to sell all of the shares they owned to Sir John, only for the irrevocable undertaking to sell his shares that Shepherd had signed to accidently end up in a shredder of the accountants, Coopers & Lybrand. This is a reply to a phone call. As mentioned on the telephone, and reiterated to Mr Forbes, as far at this firm is concerned it was a complete accident that the irrevocable undertaking signed by Mr Shepherd was destroyed. Any suggestion that Mr Donohoe did not act solely in the interests of the independent directors is strongly denied. My firm gave advice to the independent directors of Newcastle United Plc in connection with the offer from Cameron Hall Developments Limited in accordance with the agreed terms set out in our letter of 15th May 1992. I am satisfied that my partners and staff performed their work to the highest standard and with integrity. I would be most pleased to meet with you and Mr Forbes. Yours sincerely Lionel Davies Coopers & Lybrand said they'd shredded the letter by mistake, Shepherd said he'd changed his mind and hadn't signed it. So an irrevocable undertaking signed in front of witnesses, one who admitted to shredding it by mistake wasn't actually signed.
  5. Sir John isn't my idol, he just did a good job while chairman, I've never denied or doubted that it was the idea of Fletcher to bring Keegan in.
  6. I thought this was proven wrong 6 weeks ago? http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/2008/01/26/jonathan-woodgate-close-to-newcastle-move-89520-20298867/
  7. If anybody wondered why Keegan walked away from Newcastle during his first few months at the club as manager, here it is. He was being asked to sell Gavin Peacock and David Kelly in this letter offering him a contract. Following the Board Meeting today, I write to set out proposals for your further engagement with Newcastle United as Team Manager. The Board are unanimously in support of your remaining with the Club and, being aware of the importance you place upon the future stability of the Club, have formulated a new financial package which they believe will bring stability and also allow investment in the playing squad. This new package, which involves a further substantial equity injection likely to be funded mainly by Board members and anticipates player sales, requires your support in terms of your acceptance of the amount that can initially be made available for player purchases. This is fundamental to the future of the club in financial terms since the club’s aim in the first season must be to at least break even in cash terms. Currently there does not appear to be any other realistic alternative open to the Directors to secure the club’s future. The proposal is as follows: That a minimum sum of £1.5 million be raised from the sale of players currently at the end of their contracts or from players under contract that do not figure in your future plans. Fifty percent of all transfer fee receipts up to £2 million will be made available for player purchase. In the event that transfer fee receipts exceed £2 million then all such additional monies will also be made available to you for further player purchases if required. The Directors to arrange a further equity injection of £1 million . Your contractual arrangements with the club are proposed as follows: Basic salary - £125,000 per annum. Bonus for promotion to the Premier League - £50,000. Basic salary Premier League - £175,000 per annum. Commensurate bonuses for the Premier League Championship, European qualification and competitions, Domestic Cup competitions. Normal relocation benefits. Company vehicle. In addition the Board offer by way of additional remuneration shares at par (50p) in Newcastle United PLC to the value of £125,000 for each year of your employment with the company. The above letter was signed by Russell Cushing.
  8. The Mort attitude you're going on about isn't reality though, at least not in the real world, how any sane person could doubt that Keegan had money to spend is beyond me.

    Current Feelings?

We're not in the bottom 3 at this stage of this season either. At this stage of our last 10 seasons we've been, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 10th, 11th x 3, 12th x 2 and 16th, in order of highest to lowest.

I'm not sure you're limited when it comes to buggering, if you're old enough and it's in private then it's up to the individuals. Obviously you’ve been doing your homework though.

I had to put up with Leicester fans taking the piss. That would make a canny thread, the lowest form of life to take the piss.

You've got no right to question the support of GM.

At least people in the North East can escape as we're all going through the same thing, that's what pisses me off when "The Foreigners" get so much stick on here at times, it's easier for us up here.

    Current Feelings?

I just hope your mates at home don't know who you support, I've been away from the North East 3 times and being amongst other fans just made it worse.
