  1. Dabo or Blofeld? http://www.people.cornell.edu/pages/bsa25/images/Blofeld.jpg "KILL BARTON. NOW!"
  2. Maybe Dabo said he walked into a door?
  3. Who's "knowone"? Ittakesoneto's mate?
  4. I suppose £15m for a 32 year old would be good business.....
  5. I'm not convinced he's much better than Roeder tbh
  6. I wonder where Oliver gets this bollocks from? At the moment it's quite possible someone else will be calling the shots by the end of the season....
  7. Maybe Rangers or Celtic, if they could afford his wages
  8. I'm all for these scouting trips tbh. It'll give Freddy a chance to show Big Sam around and clear Roeder's desk while he's away. Plus circulate instructions to the security guards at SJP and Longbenton not to let him back in.
  9. I honestly don't understand............. As someone from outside Newcastle, he seems to be doing everything in his power to take the club forward. Newcastle are spending the money. Why is he unpopular? My position on the board differs to most but the reasons you are looking for are Souness and Roeder. I could understand the logic behind appointing Souness at the time because the dressing room needed to be sorted out. But I didn't agree with that decision because I never rated Souness. He fell out with all his players at Blackburn and he ended up the same with Newcastle. Regarding Roeder. That also seemed like a crazy decision. One I could not understand at all. Because Roeder is famous for relegating the best line up in history. How can a guy like that deserve one of the biggest jobs in football. Roeder has no track record of achievement. I remember him managing Watford in the early nineties. He was useless there as well. Reading played Watford regularly in the lower divisions back in the day. Watford were strong under Graham Taylor. But when Roeder was in charge we hammered them with ease every time. Freddy needs to fire Roeder immediately and get someone in who can start planning for next season. Next seasons plans should start now. Have the whole summer to scour the transfer market. have the last games of this season to assess the current squad. Now is the time to bring in Allardyce. If Sheppard is blamed for making poor managerial decisions. This week is the time he needs to sort it out and redeem himself. Big Sam is available, Roeder is a failure. Give Big Sam the time and chance to plan for next season. You don't wanna bring someone new in after the first 10 games of next season or after pre season has started. This is the best time in the football calender to bring in a new manager when you are in mid table and safe from the drop and not playing for anything. Give the new boss enough time to lay out his plans. I fully expect Shepherd to dither as long as possible. That's usually until angry fans surround his car and attempt to drag him out of it to lynch him from a lamppost Mussolini style. To be fair, it's not just him, it's the other major shareholders the Hall family too, Freddy gets most of the flak because he's the most visible (for lots of reasons).
  10. No, I said that because I read that thread too. The person who posted that originally was not at the training ground as far as I know, but a good friend of Micah Richards (Richards used to lodge with his family while he was in the academy). He gets loads of good info from him altho he has to be pretty hushed up about most of it because everyone knows what his HP is, but he posted that Barton's city career was over before this news broke... the rumours that he had done in Dabo came seperately which this poster then confirmed with that post. I believe it to be true, and I gather some of the papers this morning have ran with a similar story. Obviously the end of Barton at City, and probably knocked off half his value when we sell him in the summer. The daft c***. > You're probably right, but who honestly would want to buy him? Jol is a keen admirer of his footballing ability and has asked about getting him signed before, about the time of the £5.5m clause was first mentioned, but Levy and Comolli were dead against it. Jol has raised the subject again today with Levy (Comolli is in France), Levy's going to talk to DC but I don't reckon they will want to know again, even if the price was halved. It sounds like you're following these guys around :icon_biggrin:
  11. Whoever signs Barton will be cancelling the players' xmas party....
  12. Tbh they didnt move from there chairs all 2nd half, We were getting dominated yet Roeder didnt have a clue how to change things. Aye, as far as I'm concerned, Roeder has two touchline poses. Sat on a seat not knowing what the f*** to do, or standing with his hands in his pockets not knowing what the f*** to do. I suppose at least Pearson's lying down shows he has a bit more variety in his not knowing what the f*** to do poses. To be fair he was probably bored shitless. I expect he had to endure "Nige, what do we do? Any ideas Nige? Any ideas at all?" in a whining cockney accent for 45 minutes
  13. Tbh they didnt move from there chairs all 2nd half, We were getting dominated yet Roeder didnt have a clue how to change things. That Pro Licence training came in handy then. Was one of the courses "How to look like you know what you're doing when you haven't got a fucking clue"?
  14. So the thread title should be "No Chelsea Officials in suspected not-a-plane crash". Good one
  15. I get the impression people don't like the new strip. Plus the team's playing shite. We need a trophy signing to shift the shirts quick!
  16. It was an away game. Winning/drawing therefore not likely
  17. Willie McKay's actually our chief scout. I'm expecting Barton to be linked with us soon.
  18. Nah, we're cursed. Unless we can get Big Sam to piss in each corner of the pitch and lift the curse, it's obvious we'll never win anything.
  19. We've played this game before and then he appointed Souness. And paid Blackburn for the privilege. There's no point in trying to second guess Shepherd. Judging by past appointments he'll put off making a decision as long as possible.
  20. Coppell's having a little bit of fun at Madjeski's expense, I can't believe anybody's taking that comment seriously. Madjeski has underfunded RFC for years, repeatedly claiming it had eaten enough of his cash already, and if they hadn't got promoted it's likely he would have sold it to the first decent offer going. This is not unreasonable given it is a small club punching above its weight, and didn't sell out their smallish stadium regularly in the championship. iirc at one point he claimed the club was incapable of breaking even and he was bankrolling the difference reluctantly. He's pretty rich (used to own Autotrader and is now a property developer) but he's not a billionaire and is notoriously penny pinching. The idea that he would pour 200m into it on the basis of one season is a joke and meant as such....
  21. What have you been doing with them up to now? Not eating them I hope...... mackems.gif
