Spurs never forgave us for selling them Kevin Scott. So they sent us Stephen Carr in revenge.

Fantastic player. However when he's done his tenth pointless stepover I wish a grand piano would fall on his head.

Nope. Not now, not ever, not that lot

Freddy Shepherd's contingency plan: 1. Has Alan got his badges now? Howay, get me Alan on the phone 2. Errrr, that's it

"Black and white are so very slimming on me, don't you think, ha ha ha?"

Note* Not one defender in that list. ^ This. The sheer gulf in class between our attack and defence totally unbalances the team. 1 goal in 2 games against Waragem and Wigan. I'm yet to see the supposed "class". 9th best attack in the division (only 2 goals off having the 6th best) 13th best defence in the division Or 17th best defence in the division plus Shay Given?

Name me 10 Premiership squads you'd swap for ours then, honestly... I know the squad has major flaws, but i'm struggling to think of more than 6 i would prefer. First teams i'm talking about (i don't know enough about other teams full squads, really). Of our "first" team, we have 1 GK, 1 Defender (2 if you count Solano), 4 Midfielders (only one of whom is a top-7 player for me), and 1 striker (Oba still tbc, but he's looking good, in fairness) who are definately up to it. We have a so-called first team where we are TWO dfenders short of a premiership back 4, only one top-7 quality midfielder, and 2 good strikers (if Oba comes good in the medium term). But there is still the fear that this cretin Roeder thinks Babayaro, Bramble, Ameobi etc are good enough, and will try to play/not replace them. Plus he was bigging up Carr earlier in the season, a man whose legs are so fat he can barely run Playing the c*** at left back was beyond f****** stupid. I seriously wouldn't even have Carr as a squad player. Injury prone and overweight. What a waste of a decent wage - I don't see what Roeder sees in him, I honestly don't. Babayaro isn't a first teamer either imo, too injury prone and bad positionally

We must be the worse team in the Premiership at throw-ins. We may as well throw it to the other team. And Yorkie's right, it's been that way for years and nothing's been done
-
We ARE a mediocre club. I don't expect us to break into the top 6 under the current set up. Still, coping with disappointment is what being a toon fan is all about & there's always next season
-
Filan's Australian though, isn't he? What he needed to do was mimic a stingray. Filan would have went off it. Ouch. As Steve might have said. Oops
-
I was disappointed Sib didn't retaliate with a Marcel Marceau style mime of a roast beef being put into the oven. No imagination these players, eh?
-
Yup, heard it all before. Still I guess as the captain he's got to say something better than "Sorry we were shit second half"
-
I think Roeder should get a couple of seasons to stabilise the club and take us forward if he can. However my gut feel is we won't ever do better than 7th with him in charge.
-
I don't think Bellamy would see the mackems as a big enough club for him. Which of course they aren't. I'm guessing he'd only consider a move to another CL club now.
-
I was hoping Carr in particular would be injured until the end of the season, when he would be made available for a free transfer to a pub team.
-
He should be talking about next season's team in the summer.

It's tempting to see the ability to polish a turd as Stevens' core requirement. It's the old tactic of appearing to self police before the govt does something meaningful
-
Team Overall - could do better
-
Never mind set-pieces involving feet, why is it we've spent years not only wasting throw-ins but putting ourselves at a major disadvantage by literally chucking possession away to the opposition only yards away from our penalty area? Bloody maddening. We seem determined to make a 15 yard throw or nothing. blueyes.gif Sadly too bloody true. We've been shit at throw-ins for years!

God bless you Merlin. And God bless Tiny Tim. Geordie Messiah on the hand, a pox on him, fie!

Willie McKay was named on Radio 5 Live this morning as one of the 8 agents who refused to co-operate with Lord Stevens' bung enquiry. Willie McKay is based in Monaco and and represents amongst others Jean-Alain Boumsong who we bought for £8m from Glasgow Rangers when Souness, a former manager of Rangers, was in charge. Our club's favourite agent won't co-operate with an independent enquiry into transfer bungs. Funny that, eh?

IIRC this fella was found by the police in a hire car that he'd driven into a barrier on a motorway slip road. He was passed out drunk having consumed a bottle of vodka, although he had managed to have a dump on the back seat and smeared his shit over the seats. And I'm not making this up, it's true http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/low/england/derbyshire/3324641.stm Not a man to cadge a lift off bluebiggrin.gif

That could be any number of players.... bluewink.gif
